Had a very nice experience at Aha Indian Kitchen. The food was very tasty and had proper authentic flavours. The hospitality was also very good. The staff were polite, friendly and very cooperative. Even after closing time, they were kind enough to take our order and allowed us to dine in, which we truly appreciate. Overall, great service and delicious food. Highly recommended!

Came here with my wife last night and it was so, so good. Hands down the best dosa I have had outside of India. Also had the pav bhaji which was fantastic. We will absolutely be back.

All-time favourite!
Different times we visited Aha Indian Kitchen, and we always had an amazing experience. The ambiance was warm and welcoming. We were able to taste nearly every item on their extensive menu. The traditional dosas were very delicious with real South Indian flavors. They offer very good non-veg and veg thalis. Being a biriyani lover, my husband was particularly fond of their mutton keema biriyani and mutton dum biriyani. Their appetizers are also very tempting. Each item has a very good blend of spices which reflects on the flavor of the dish. The staff was attentive and friendly. The wait time was not excessively long. We always advice all of our friends to visit this place to experience the authentic flavor of India.
Following were the items we tried out:
Appetizer- Punugulu, Medu Vada, Mirchi Bajji, Pav Bhaji, Chicken 65, Chilli Chicken
Main Course- Noodles, Masala Dosa, Mutton Dum Biriyani, Mutton Keema Biriyani, Veg/Non-veg Thali

I have to say, one of the best dosas I’ve tried in Richmond so far. It was very close to the authentic south Indian taste that we get back in India. I absolutely loved the sambhar (was so glad to actually see some veggies in the sambar, unlike other places I’ve tried) and they had 3 varieties of chutney which were all so delicious. Poori and Chana curry was also tasty, and it was a generous portion size with 3 big pooris. Didn’t care much for the Egg puffs, I believe I’ve had better egg puffs. The service was friendly and prompt. I would have loved to see a change in the ambiance and the decor with the change in the name of the restaurant and management. I would definitely recommend this place for their dosas.

A great spot to have breakfast/brunch. My dosa and idly vadai combo was just what I needed on a cold day in Virginia. Food tasted very much homemade. Their menu looked very reasonably priced and service was very quick as well.

The folks who took and served my order were very polite and their ambience was casual and great for groups. I highly recommend it for those in and around Richmond.

This establishment has changed ownership and gotten much better! The tables are clean and with a jug of fresh water. The cashiers are pleasant. And the iddli, sambar, and rasam are so delicious. This is authentic South Indian cuisine at its best in Richmond, Virginia! I highly recommend this intimate, friendly eatery.

I don’t usually write many restaurant reviews, but Aha has become a truly special place for me. Time flies—it’s been six years since I moved to Richmond, and for the last five of them I’ve been coming here regularly. If you’re looking for authentic South Indian cuisine and the best Indian street food in Short Pump and Glen Allen, this is the place to visit.

I spent over a year traveling in India, and whenever I miss those flavors, Aha is where I go. I find myself here almost every other week to satisfy my cravings for true Indian dishes. Whether it’s a Mysore-style masala dosa—famous among the yoga community in Mysore for breakfast—or something else on the menu, you’ll enjoy every single bite.

I takeout the mysoor bonda last week and asked them extra peanut chutney. When I came home and having them and noticed that they gave me spoiled chutney. My 17 months baby also ate . I called back then and told about chutney they simply said okay and cut the call. 2 nd time i ate from ahaa two times food was worst . I never recommend this restaurant for bonda nd punugulu and idly and especially chutney and their behavior .
