If there’s a hidden gem restaurant in Milwaukee, without question it’s Ward’s House of Prime. I’m always down for a Prime Rib whenever available, and they absolutely win every time on delivering an excellent prime rib.

Last time I was here the restaurant was totally empty on a weekend, very quiet with no loud music and good soundproofing from the bar area out front. I have no idea why this restaurant was empty. The service was phenomenal, the drinks were amazing and the food is stellar with very reasonable prices on food even for how expensive Prime Rib can be.

Easily my stand outs are the Prime Rib (of course), the stellar Pork Belly appetizer, and the scallops on the side. I also enjoyed the chocolate cake dessert which was so phenomenal, very rich with lots of chocolate.

My dad enjoyed his old fashioned, and we tried the Japanese Highball and it was outstanding and very refreshing. I also loved the selection of whiskey and bourbons, and this restaurant is where I tried Hibiki Japanese Whiskey for the first time and it was amazing.

I absolutely recommend this restaurant. If you’re looking for a great restaurant in Milwaukee and you’re in the mood for a more quiet and laid back environment with great food, Ward’s is easily the winner.

The Best Prime Rib Anywhere & Service That Feels Like Family!

Ward’s House of Prime is truly in a league of its own. Every visit is exceptional, and that’s thanks in large part to Brian and Katie. These two are absolutely incredible—warm, welcoming, genuinely caring, and they always make you feel right at home. They don’t just provide great service… they treat you like family, and they take perfect care of me, my family, and every guest I bring with me.

The drinks here are unbelievable—crafted with skill, served with personality, and consistently top‑notch. Whether it’s cocktails, classics, or something special off the menu, you can count on it being perfect.

And the prime rib… what can I say? It’s truly the best in the world. Tender, flavorful, cooked to perfection every single time. Ward’s has mastered it. Once you try it, nothing else compares.

Between the phenomenal food, incredible drinks, and the unmatched hospitality from Brian and Katie, Ward’s House of Prime is the kind of place you look forward to going back to again and again.

Highly recommended—this place is a gem.

I was in Milwaukee and finally had a chance to dine at Ward’s House of Prime, and it was wonderful. I haven’t had a prime rib this good in years. You can get larger cuts, but I settled for the 24 oz. cut. The prime rib had a beefy and succulent flavor through the entire tender slab. Real prime rib taste with a perfectly savory crust. I highly recommend a stop here if you’re in town. Comes with soup or salad and a potato, nice to see no charge extras at a high end restaurant. Excellent service.

Great experience at Wards! The staff was attentive but not overbearing. Great recommendations for the apps & the specials. I usually eat at the bar, but this time we were in the back room which is a much quieter vibe for one-on-one conversations.
The aged steaks are phenomenal & the prime rib is second to none! The Lobster bisque is the best I’ve had in Milwaukee.
Highly recommend the cocktails as well- they’re well balanced & there’s something for everyone.

The food was excellent. The service was great, and the atmosphere was welcoming. I had Lobster bisque, 16 oz prime rib with three seared scallops. That was the special. I also had mashed potatoes. All were delicious. I was full, so I got carrot cake to bring home. And, that was good too. Our server Tim was friendly.

We went for our Anniversary dinner, I had the 24 oz prim rib and she had the 8 oz fillet and scallops. Both meals were cooked to perfection!!! Our server was spot on — friendly… professional..easy to talk to.
The other staff we encountered were very pleasant and all wished us a Happy Anniversary. Very comfortable atmosphere, I would and will recommend Ward’s house of Prime!
Ps. Thanks for the complimentary dessert for our Anniversary.

An upscale establishment with melt-in-your-mouth prime rib. The place is clean with nice furnishings but sterile and crowded, not exactly cozy, private nor romantic.

Ward’s is probably my favorite steakhouse in Milwaukee, so when it came to finding a place to celebrate our anniversary I was excited to make the reservation. We stopped in on a Saturday night and it was just starting to get busy. We were seated in a smaller dining room and in a nice booth. Our waiter Jesse was great, he got us started with some complimentary bread.

We were dining during dining week, the special menu included some of the favorites. Since neither of us wanted to try to get our name on the wall we stuck with some of the “smaller” steaks. I decided to go with the dining week menu, getting the lobster bisque, 9 oz filet, and a salted caramel brownie. My husband went with a bone-in ribeye and a cup of the chef’s daily soup. We also ordered some cajun mac & cheese and a bottle of wine to complete our meal.

The soups were delicious! We both really enjoyed our steaks and they were cooked beautifully. The mac & cheese paired nicely with the meats. After we were finished eating we were served a large slice of chocolate cake for our anniversary. We were so full after our meal, we didn’t finish the cake, but did get to take the rest of it home. Overall, it was a great place to celebrate our special day!

Went out with my wife for my birthday and everything except some of the other patrons was absolutely perfect. Great service, best Prime rib I’ve had in my life, could have been parked further away from some of the other patrons that were a bit obnoxious, and the bill was through the roof but as the saying goes you get what you pay for. And it was worth every penny!

The staff was excellent. My water was never empty. Everything came out in a timely manner and the food was incredible. Make sure to save room for the weekly bread pudding special! They had cinnamon toast crunch for this week.
