I got an asada super burrito, it was just okay.
The tortilla was super good. The refried beans also super good and creamy. The other stuff, asada in particular, was super chewy with lots of gristle and stuff and some burned bits which kinda took away from the yumminess of the beans and tortilla.
I want to like this place though and I suspect breakfast and dishes like the chorizo and birria are where they really shine.
Customer service isn’t really a thing here. They only take cash and if you’re covid conscious, uh, they don’t mask at all
Edit: 2nd visit, still no masking – that doesn’t bother me too much but FYI for folks that would mind it. Went back for breakfast and had a chorizo burrito. Chorizo is as expected really good – much better than my initial experience with asada. The burrito is a little leaky and I think these really delicious tortillas could stand to be a touch bigger for burritos, I wish the burritos included the yummy refried beans they have here. I will try to make it back for the birria which I suspect is really likely the shining ingredient here. I’d say 4 stars for the chorizo burrito. Yummy tortilla still the star – I wish the chorizo was a little more spicy and a little more finely ground. I really wanna like this place and give it 5 stars, I’ll give it one more go with the birria in the future
The employees were great, from ordering, to making sure we had salsas, and taking care of their customers.
I had two al pastor tacos, very small, very good. I had one fish taco, VERY big and very good.
You can’t buy drinks here, but of course you have a whole mini market to choose from.
La Michoacana inside Chevron is some of the better travelling food in Woodland.
The only negatives was a lot of flies at the eating area inside and the expensive pricing given the venue.
I’m giving this place five stars for the food, not for the sit down area or environment. If you don’t mind eating gas station food, this really is outstanding authentic Mexican. I’ll be back when I’m in Woodland.
