I am submitting this complaint regarding my recent visit to the Wingstop located at 4005 W 167th St, Country Club Hills, IL. This experience was one of the most disturbing I have ever had in a restaurant, both in terms of food safety violations and employee misconduct.
My order had a promised ready time of 7:15 PM. I arrived at 7:07 PM and did not receive my order until 7:28 PM. As a former Wingstop General Manager, I was appalled to see baskets of chicken wings, boneless wings, tenders, and fries sitting out for an extended period of time. Instead of serving food fresh—as is Wingstop’s standard—employees were reheating cooked product. This practice is a serious food safety hazard, raises concerns about tampering, and can easily result in foodborne illness.
When I raised these concerns, the heavy-set Indian male cashier was extremely rude, disrespectful, combative, and aggressive. He repeatedly interrupted me, escalated the situation, and became so hostile that I genuinely feared he might physically harm me. His behavior was not only unprofessional but also threatening. The fact that he became angry because I pointed out unsanitary practices is unacceptable.
At one point, the cook had to intervene and apologized for the cashier’s behavior, but the cashier himself never offered me an apology. Instead, he insisted that if I wanted food made fresh, it would take a “long wait”—despite my order having been scheduled for pickup at a specific time.
To make matters worse, when I asked for a manager, I was informed that no manager was on site. How can a restaurant operate without a licensed manager present to ensure compliance with food safety, customer service, and staff conduct? This is a direct violation of standard operating procedures and raises even greater concerns about how this location is being run.
This experience has left me deeply unsettled. Not only was the food safety and quality at risk, but I also felt unsafe as a customer due to the cashier’s aggressive conduct.
I am requesting the following:
1. Immediate corporate investigation into this location’s food safety practices and staff conduct.
2. Direct follow-up from upper management, as this matter goes beyond poor service—it involves potential public health risks and customer safety concerns.
3. Clarification on why there was no licensed manager on duty, and what steps will be taken to prevent this from happening again.
Customers should never have to fear for their safety when picking up food, nor should they have to question whether their meal is safe to eat. This location has shown a blatant disregard for both.
I expect a prompt response and action from corporate leadership.
I have been here a handful of times since this location has opened and I have not been disappointed. The staff is friendly, my orders are timely, always correct and hot. Not all Wingstop’s are the same but I’m glad this location is close to home.
