If you’re into Mexican sushi, this spot is worth checking out. EL VIEJON MARISCOS & SUSHI does a solid job mixing sushi with bold Mexican seafood flavors, and that’s what makes it stand out for me.
Right now, it’s a bit different setup-wise. It’s a food truck parked at a brick-and-mortar location. Food is prepared in the truck, but you can go inside and sit down to eat. It’s very casual—basically a food truck experience with indoor seating. They mentioned plans to add a kitchen inside later, which would definitely level things up.
I tried the Badiraguato roll—fried, loaded, and full of flavor. Sauces were on point and the seafood tasted fresh. I also sampled other rolls like El Viejón, and they were just as solid.
This isn’t traditional sushi, and that’s the point. If you like seafood, bold flavors, and trying something different, give them a shot.

I was on the hunt for sushi when I came across this place, and I’m really glad. I ordered the botana Camaron y pulpo, and the ceviche. My friend and her husband ordered the yakimeshi ribeye and also throughly enjoyed it, next time, im trying the sushi. They currently have a food truck out their restaurant (doing renovations) but don’t let that detour you.
