Love Sayonara. The cocktails are super thoughtful and unique, the DJs and music are always on point, and the staff is welcoming and kind. I lost something during a visit and the team was so helpful and proactive in helping me find it — truly above-and-beyond service. Such a fun, well-run local spot with great vibes all around.

We stopped in after dinner for a few drinks and were pleasantly surprised, this place is so cute! The vibe, the decor, and the crowd all felt fun and welcoming. The bartender was super sweet and offered great suggestions. I ended up trying the 196, and I’m honestly obsessed, it’s become my new favorite seltzer. Definitely recommend this spot for a quick drink or a casual hangout with friends!

Unique vibe bar! They have booths the are well decorated with Japanese arts if you come early enough. These booths give you privacy and good for chatting. When it gets later, people start flowing in and I think it lost the charming Japanese vibe you could get earlier in the night. I wish the music they play matches the vibe of the place better. The drinks are good and I enjoyed all of mine. The service wasn’t so good though that night. I think because we were at the booths, our server forgot about us and when I told the front desk, she came to our table to take the order but didn’t even apologize (this was before the bar gets busy). In the middle, the service got better but again when it’s busy at night, she disappeared and I have to walk around to find her to close the tab. Overall, I still like the bar and will probably come again.

Really fun NYE party but unfortunately one of the bartenders was painfully slow. He shotgunned a red bull behind the bar in an attempt to look cool I think but in reality he really needed to pick up the pace. He would take half of one groups order and then move on to the next group so the line never moved with him. I don’t think he has the experience to handle the volume of a NYE party. The barback and other bartender (blonde) were fantastic and really efficient. They needed to have a few more really experienced bartenders working. I am certain the bar lost out on a lot of money just with people waiting for drinks. They also placed tiny notecards around the bar stating there was an automatic 20% gratuity added to the tabs. It could have been easily missed if you didn’t see them and that in itself is also a little shady in my opinion.

This place was a lot of fun! The atmosphere is really awesome and does feel like you’ve been transported outside of Salt Lake City. The sake was excellent and great recommendation by the bartender. Wasn’t there late enough to order food but it did sound good. Only issue is that the high ball drinks tasted a lot more of the mixer and a little watered down. To be fair that’s an issue at any bar in Utah. Good flavors and fun atmosphere, definitely worth coming to check out!

I really liked this place. Went to a movie at the Broadway so it was a great place less than a block away to have a drink at afterwards. They don’t serve food but the drinks were so well made and the staff was awesome ! Friendly vibes and the interior of the bar is so pleasing the authentic Japanese ingredients and spirits in their cocktails. I highly recommend coming here!

Beautifully unique Japanese alley bar that reminds of memory lane in Shinjuku! The design and decorations are kawaii – all authentic from Japan and reminded my wife of growing up in Japan.
We started with the Hojicha Old Fashioned and the Snow Cone Chuhai which were both distinctively Japanese cocktails and were amazing. We tried the lychee ume highball and also the wasabi mule, which was my favorite! We had the kushikatsu and the yakitori which came out quick and were perfect. Service was great and the bartenders were wonderful, receptive, and very helpful to suggest cocktails and mixes that weren’t on the listed drink menu. Our server knew all about each drink, making sure the martini was what we were craving, or the Japanese flavors we could expect Check this place out if you love the Izakaya feel!!

We arrived roughly at 9:30pm prior to the cover and had a great time winding down our evening at Sayonara. The bar staff were kind, attentive, and responsive. Quick to take your order and had bar staff coming to your table with drink service.

Of the course the vibes are some of the best in downtown SLC. We particularly enjoyed the bar back and pool room.

Came to try it out and it was so busy and fun for being a brand new bar. The decor is beautiful and the whole bar has a great vibe. There’s a large patio which is amazing. I had the snow cone chugs i which was sweet but so yummy. They don’t have food YET but will soon so I’m excited to come back and try! Posting a menu cuz let’s be real we all wanna know before we go lol looking forward to coming back! (I lightened the photos but kept the other red to show the overall lighting and ambiance)

never leave a 1 star review but tipped all night and on our last drink of the night my friend didn’t tip as we had spent over a hundred dollars on drinks and tipped over 20% on each drink and two and two of the bartenders came out to confront my friend about his tip percentage with a group of men rude and unfriendly bartenders that may need replaced didn’t quite perceive the full story as I was tipping for this friend. Maybe the management has been lacking but a change is needed are we seriously pressing customers buying drinks at the bar sad bartenders maybe pay them more if they are hustling customers for money feeling like the homeless in SLC your friday night the 15 th shift needs work. Thanks poor management would love to have a conversation.
