One of the best parts is the variety. You can choose from a wide selection of already-prepared Chinese dishes if you want something quick and easy, or you can head to the Mongolian BBQ section for a more interactive experience. There, you get to pick your own meats, vegetables, noodles, and sauces, then take your bowl to the grill and watch it being cooked right in front of you. It’s fun, fast, and incredibly tasty.
Pricing is straightforward and fair since your bowl or plate is weighed to determine the cost, so you’re in control of how much you get and how much you spend.
On top of the great food, the staff is very friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which really adds to the overall experience. Sun’s Mongolian BBQ is a fantastic spot for fresh food, good value, and excellent service. Highly recommended!
Dishes I really enjoyed:
– kung pao chicken was juicy and not too spicy
– green beans were still crisp
– boiled spicy fish fillets
– mayo shrimp (like honey walmut shrimp without walnuts)
Dishes that I liked / were okay:
– spicy shrimp, the flavor is only on the outside; shrimp itself is plain but cooked very well
– black pepper pork chop, a little overcooked but flavor was fine
– black pepper chicken was good but I just prefer the flavor of the kung pao more
– teriyaki chicken was fine but needed more teriyaki sauce
What I would not order again:
– hot and sour soup. It needed more egg and was missing pork strips, but the flavor also wasn’t quite there. Too heavy on the soy sauce and corn starch, not enough vinegar.
The plate pictured below was $10.
Recommend for a fast and fresh Chinese food option!
Food looks amazing, price is very reasonable, it was a complete win for me when they said shrimp was included!
They charge by weight but totally worth it!
Will def be back.
Great news is you get to bring food home because you can’t finish it all
This place offers a solid dining experience for those who love customizing their meals. The buffet-style setup allows you to hand-pick your favorite ingredients, from fresh veggies to a variety of meats, and top them off with your preferred sauces before they’re cooked to perfection right in front of you.
I usually get food to go. Their selection of food is delish! String beans, bbq pork, honey mayo shrimp, and chicken mushroom is my go to along w chow mein.
Service is was good!
Make sure to get the mango, strawberry, or pineapple slush!
They now have soup! Both egg drop and hot and sour. It’s $3.99 for a decent serving, which you do serve yourself. Was the one this missing for me here and they have it now. Steam table items were better also, but I suspect it was the timing of our visit. Will be here more now that I can get my soup on with my Mongolian!!!

So being honest, I kept comparing this place to a place in La Verne that was a drive but worth it after our local Mongolian AYCE place closed. Liked the pay by weight option over AYCE, so I don’t stuff myself :). Chinese fast food options were also a good add to satisfy some cravings. But anyway, this place is much closer but the Chinese options aren’t as good nor do they have soup. It was a point of comparison for a while, but I find I can come here get what I want and go. Unlike when you drive 30 mins, you load up and order more than you need. Mongolian is as much about customization as it is about flavors from sauces and chiles. Been back about 3 times over four weeks, so can’t really complain can I? Yes, convenience is a factor but if food and service wasn’t good, I wouldn’t keep coming back. Service is pretty good and they keep the items as fresh as they can. When not, they do listen and bring what you need. Pretty basic, but sometimes that just what you need.
