All I can say is utterly sublime! This little slice of Parisienne heaven is tucked away in the Lime Grove shopping mall. It’s fairly newly opened and was recommend to us by our local friend. It did not disappoint! Everything from the decor, atmosphere, warm welcome, cocktails and food was truly outstanding! My wife and I visited early Sunday evening and were greeted by the charming hostess and co-creator Chef JJ. They made us feel at home immediately and it was heartwarming to see JJ greeting everyone as they entered and similarly mingling with those already seated to check everything was tip top. We had a drink at the bar to begin with, lychee martini for my wife and G&T for me, both executed and tasted perfect. To eat we shared some Chorizo croquettes (heavenly!) then we both had the French onion soup (best I’ve ever tasted-including in France!) and moules frites, again just sublime and I could have bathed in the moules sauce! It’s worth mentioning even the bread and butter was of Michelin standard! This was washed down with a petit Chablis, what else?! My wife was beaten into a food coma by this point but I managed to squeeze in the best apple tarte tatin I’ve ever tasted. I should also mention our delightful waiter whose name sadly escapes me but his service and jovial personality was shining bright, a real star! Again I cannot recommend this beautiful restaurant highly enough, it’s a MUST visit on any Barbados trip, we’ll definitely be back!

This is a little hideaway within a West Coast Mall. The decor is a little dated but plenty of space for large diners. My starter was a yummy pumpkin soup, and after I had a croque monsieur which was not bad, and dessert I had the key lime pie. In all the staff was super friendly and efficient, however, I felt that the bill for two people for lunch was a bit high. Good friendly vibe.

I felt like a brief and elegant escape from Barbados—like stepping into a chic European bistro tucked away in the heart of the Caribbean. The ambiance was an absolute hit, effortlessly blending sophistication with a cozy, romantic vibe. From the moment we walked in, the service was A1 plus—attentive, warm, and polished without being overbearing.

The décor is stunning—every detail thoughtfully curated to enhance the experience, from the lighting to the artwork. It really set the tone for an unforgettable evening.

As for the food: we started with oysters and French onion soup. The oysters were fresh and briny with just the right touch of garnish, and the soup was rich, deeply flavorful, and comforting—my wife loved it. For the main course, I had the lamb shank and she went with the sea bass. Both dishes were beautifully plated, seasoned to perfection, and cooked just right. You could taste the freshness in every bite.

Derriere is more than a meal—it’s a vibe, an experience, a must-visit for anyone who appreciates exceptional dining with style and soul… right here in Barbados…

We just had the most amazing French soup that took me straight back to my time in France! The food here is off the charts delicious, and I loved sitting inside, watching the talented chefs work their magic through the open kitchen window. ️ ️

Top-tier, delicious, classically rustic yet elevated provincial French food at new Derriére restaurant at the Limegrove Lifestyle Centre in Holetown. I had the frog legs (in lemon garlic butter sauce) special and a croquet madame (from a culinary team led by esteemed chef Jean-Jaques). Both delicious and only made better by prompt, stellar service, and a most fittingly welcome decor.

Came in here on Friday evening. I heard a lot of noise about this place but just never tried it. Our friends reccomended it and we joined them for Dinner. From the moment we walked in the service was 10/10. Atmosphere very good, I ordered steak and was the best I have tasted on the island without a doubt. It was a great first experience and we will be back for sure.

I really appreciated the efforts on the decor, upon entering you really feel like you have taken a trip to Paris. All very engaging and inviting, especially the bar.
The staff were very friendly which made up for any shortfalls in experience. The food in general is pricey particularly for lunch, even for Limegrove, but it was enjoyable. Though I was disappointed that some items on the menu were not available, which I only learned upon ordering . Nevertheless, all in all a good experience improved significantly by good company.
Sufficiently satisfied that I will return to try the dinner experience.

A few weeks ago, we met Chef Daniel outside Le Derriere. We took a peek inside the restaurant and liked what we saw!
On Thursday, May 15, my bride and I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Le Derriere! We were greeted by a friendly hostess with a cheerful smile and friendly disposition. The decor lends itself to complimenting a great ambience, perfect for any type of special occasion, in my case a 66th birthday! Once seated we met our server, “Jam”! Jam provided prompt, efficient service coupled with a friendly, polite, and humorous attitude! Our meals were spectacular! I had the frog legs and my bride had the french onion soup! Both were awesome! My entree was the locally caught seared tuna, it was prepared to perfection! My bride had the braised lamb shank. A huge portion, fall off the bone tender!
Jam and the crew surprised us with a key lime pie sporting a candle and a rousing chorus of happy birthday! We capped off the evening with an espresso martini for my bride and a double shot straight up espresso for me!
Our thanks to all those who made my day special!
