Curveside Bar & Grill a new place has recently opened in Athens, IL. We stopped in today 2-14-26 after 1:30pm. Restaurant was busy, however a couple tables were available. I ordered the hand breaded pork tenderloin $14.99 and waffle fries (upcharge $1.50). Food came out looking good. BPT was lightly seasoned and about a 1/4+ thickness, however I feel it could have used some more seasoning flavors. I really noticed the breading did not stick to the meat, it fell off at every cut. Overall it wasnt bad and I’ll give them an opportunity to get things in order since its a new business. Looking forward to going back in a month or so for another opportunity.

Service was slow. Servers/ waitresses had no system for waiting tables. The waitress who brought us our food was great though! Wrong order of wings came out but she corrected it. She put it in correctly, cook got it wrong. Menu items and prices do not match receipt. 1 pound of wings says 2 sauces but the cook said we only get one and chose one of the 2 sauces we ordered on our corrected wings. Not a huge issue, but should have been asked which one we wanted imo. Food was average. Not a lot of flavor with the burger and tenderloin was good. Willing to give it another try when they’ve worked out their issues, though as we travel through Athens twice a week!

Good food, good service, local bar & grill atmosphere. These folks know what they are about and they do it well. Good variety in the menu. Everyone liked what they ordered.

Great “Brand New” Restaurant in Athens Illinois. We have been there twice now and have had excellent service both times. As they are new, please be patient with them as they are packed every night. The servers are very friendly and eager to accommodate you.

Loved Mexican Monday. There was a bit of a wait but as to be expected when they just opened and their Mondays are a hit. The host Kenzie was absolutely phenomenal, her professionalism was matched by her kindness. It was clear she understood that hospitality begins long before the first dish arrives at the table. From greeting every single person, bussing tables, calling our phone when our table buzzer did not go off and stopped what she was doing to greet and tell everyone to have a good night. You guys are lucky to have her!!

The restaurant is so clean and service was GREAT! I had a Nashville hot chicken horseshoe and it was fabulous. Salad bar was a HUGE hit with our group. Can’t wait to go back!!!!

The Curveside Bar & Grill is a fantastic addition to Athens! The Hot Honey Chicken was incredible, and the Bloody Mary did not disappoint. The service was excellent, with friendly, welcoming smiles that made the experience even better. The bar has a warm and homey atmosphere. I can’t wait to come back and try more items from the menu!

I miss the Boar’s Nest. It really had that classic bar and grill feel, and the food was always great.
Opening night at the Curveside. The brisket on my sandwich has no flavor. Had to drown it in BBQ sauce. The wife’s burger was dry. The mushrooms we ordered were ok, but the breading was mushy.
The place feels more like a restaurant with average food, so far.
Want to change my mind? Get someone that knows how to make really good fried chicken on Thursday nights, and really good fish on Friday nights.
