They don’t take kind to strangers here. Stopped here on our way from one job to another and they told us to take a seat but didn’t give us menus, after 10 minutes of them just standing around and not even looking at us another time I got up and found the menus. 2 minutes later she came up asking us what I wanted and acted pissy that I didn’t know yet, it took 20 minutes for them to make a burger and chicken strips. The chicken tenders were pretty good but I’ve gotten better burgers from fast food joints at half the price, hell I’ve gotten much better food much cheaper at restaurants in the middle of Detroit. Will be going past here a few more times for work but definitely won’t be stopping.

Stopped for supper on a Friday evening. Had burgers and onion rings. California burger and the Shady Burger all had fresh toppings. Onion rings were very good and decent size.
Friendly staff. Attentive to make sure we were enjoying our food and if we needed anything.
Price was spot on for our food.
They do have fresh made Pie and Cookies, soft serve ice cream (cones and shakes) but we passed on the desert.
NOTE: Current hours are 7am to 2pm Sunday/Monday due to staffing and Tues-Sat 7am to 8pm.

While traveling through we stopped for a bite at the Shady Drive inn. While the name brought us here, we weren’t disappointed.
It was quiet, but it was late for lunch. The service was great and the food was hot. Their selection was on point for what was expected for a small town road side diner.

A must stop if you miss the drive inns from the 80’s this will take you back. Food is good people are nice. It’s a wonderful experience. I will be back.

This has been my favorite spot to stop for the last decade. It’s a small,mom and pop type of place in a small town.
They have the best patty melt I have ever eaten.

Google maps is very confused. I haven’t been to the drive inn in over a decade and it keeps asking me how it is. They have good food. If you have the time, go and enjoy! I’ll get there again some day when I the opportunity arises and I have the time.
