I’m regular here for a long time since they opened up their little cafe a few years ago. Such a cute little place to chill, ran by the sweetest people in a town like this. Food takes time, but it’s definitely worth the wait. Everything is made on the go, and everything is as fresh as it can be. You won’t be disappointed. Support your small, family owned businesses like this one. ❤️

My wife and I have been here multiple times. The sushi is really great for the area and my wife really enjoys the katsu curry. If you have the time it’s worth giving it a try. We’ve recommended this place to family and friends – and will continue to do so.
We visited tonight with the intention to write an honest review. It’s a made to order restaurant so things take time and can seem a bit slow. The staff is appologetic and accommodating, especially when they know they’ve made a mistake. No restaurant or person is perfect.
4 stars is just about right.

Jackie was amazing and super accommodating. We had a lovely lunch and she was very friendly, attentive and made our experience wonderful. One in our party said “Jackie is the best server I’ve ever had”. Food was fresh, delicious and adequate portion sizes. We tried several things to share. The Chicken Karage was bomb. Love that we have this option in Sparta and can support a local business. They even made us a Vietnamese coffee float and the creme brulee was worth waiting for.

I have to admit, this local spot should be hotter, and with a better rating. I have been fortunate to take my family in the second half of my life to eat in some of the finest dining establishments in the country and the world. Yet teach them, to cook for themselves and to not be above macaroni and cheese with canned tuna and peas. They understand the beauty and perplexities of a greasy spoon and the mom and pop establishments in their community.

This restaurant has incredible food. Like, drive out of your way to eat here food. The sauces are eaily house made from scratch. I don’t think I have had a better bite of grilled mixed vegetables. I felt bad I was ignoring my chicken teriyaki because the vegetables and fried rice were perfect.

The wonderful flavors led to me ordering the curry chicken katsu to-go (suggestion from the young lady behind the bar) for dinner later. I didn’t eat it for dinner. I ended up reheating it for breakfast, and it lead me to writing a review. Wellllll damn! I’ll be back for sure.

This place is great!! We got the tonkosu ramen(big bowl/LOTS of noodles. The pork is amazing),2 plates of nigiri appetizers(4 pieces ea), an additional two salmon nigiri, miso soup, 2 rainbow rolls and the donuts for $90 !! Pretty good price for such delicious fresh fish and soup! My partner has severe allergies to crab/shellfish/shrimp which are featured everywhere on the menu but they were very accommodating and there was zero cross contamination. I also use a wheelchair so if you’re someone that’s worried about accessibility, there are two small steps at the front door and a pretty steep ramp at the back door. But the surface was smooth and the door jam was easy to get over, and the back entrance just leads you to the bathroom hallway(no going through the kitchen like some places!). Overall super good and will be visiting again. The staff are all very sweet and helpful, and it’s got that touch of Midwestern class next to authentic Asian cuisine. Only thing I’d change is offer more rolls with the traditional rice on inside of seaweed, but that’s just a me thing.

What a gem. My niece and I went for lunch today. The server was attentive and friendly. The chef came out to talk to us. We felt very welcomed. So many choices but we settled on a Bento Box and the Tuna Tataki Bowl. We were delighted beginning with the Thai Tea with Lychee Balls and hot green tea. We knew we were in for a treat from there. My niece was a huge fan of the miso soup. I had the steamed Shrimp Shumai accompanied by a flavorful soy based sauce. We loved our entrees. The chicken Bento Box had a great selection of chicken, vegetables, noodles, and pot stickers. My Tuna Tataki included fresh and pickled vegetables, avocado, and fresh ginger. Both were presented in an attractive manner. We ended our meal by sharing a creme Brulee. My niece raved about it though it was a little sweet for my palate. We loved the whole experience and will be returning soon.

A friend recommended this place to me last week. So I stopped in this afternoon for lunch and just got a crab Rangoon roll to-go. The wait wasn’t too long, the host was lovely and the roll was fantastic. Only giving a 4 star because I got it to go so I didn’t experience the full restaurant service and I only tried one menu item.

The had steak hibachi type takeout. Tasted great. Vegies and fried rice were fantastic. Steak was a bit on tougher side, but still good and for 25 bucks can’t really complain. The person who gave me my order seemed friendly. Didn’t see the whole place as I did takeout, but to the upscale or not, I think anyone could walk in a feel comfortable rich or not. Clean and decorated to their style. If I lived in Sparta, I would visit every once in awhile.

Restaurant needs an upgrade. Fish was fishy. Stomach started feeling sour after eating the sashimi that was slimy. Salad ginger dressing shouldn’t have carrots or soy sauce in it. Tasted weird. Miso was bland with no flavor. The green onion garnish wasn’t washed as it was very potent and took over any possible the miso could’ve had. Service was amature. Our table for two had 2-3 waitresses serving us
water isn’t given unless asked. Portion was great but quality needs to be better. Didn’t finish our food, paid and left.

This is such a gem for Sparta. I had the Hibachi New York Strip and Shrimp and it was incredible! My husband agreed and really enjoyed his salmon roll too. My son thought the spicy tuna was fine but did not care for the tankotsu ramen. My granddaughter loved the bulgogi and my other granddaughter enjoyed the chicken karaage. They were great with my mushroom allergy and they do offer gluten free. They did place noodles on my husband’s gluten free plate but I’m sure this was just a kitchen error. He also wasn’t sure about the sauce which is Excellent!! We’ll definitely be back.
