Valentine’s Day 2026
This restaurant was absolutely slammed for Valentine’s Day with a line out the door. The staff handled the crowd very well! Line times were about 10 minutes, while food ran about 30 minutes longer than usual. On a regular day we wait 15 minutes, today we waited 45 – which was totally understandable considering the massive amounts of people coming in for dine-in, carry-out, and even grub hub!
Our food came double wrapped and in a box, by the time we arrived at home (20 minute drive) the food was still steaming!
I am so pleased with the way this restaurant handled the insane crowd today, and the staff remembered me from previous visits.
My recommendations: king crab, garlic sauce, and dine-in on high traffic holidays like today.
Dine-in has gloves, trash buckets at table, and a large sink for clean up after.
Thank you Ugly Crab for another memorable holiday dinner. We are loyal customers for life!

I ordered the pound shrimp with a pound of crab meat. I tried the garlic butter sauce originally but thought it was a little bland. My server was nice enough to get me the House blend in mild which was really tasty. I will add that I ordered the meal with two corn and two potatoes and had plenty to take home. Also, the garlic butter sauce did taste much better the next day once the seasoning set in. All in all, I would visit again.

We visited for the first time and will definitely be back! Food was so good and had fun wearing our bibs and gloves! Everything had amazing flavor (we had the garlic butter medium). We shared the crab legs , shrimp, and sausage combo and both of us left full.

My friend and I are regulars at Ugly Crab and have been for a while. We usually order the Super Seafood Combo and it never disappoints—until this most recent visit.
We noticed right away that something was different. The sauce, which is normally rich, buttery, and full of flavor, tasted noticeably off—it was more watery and lacked the usual punch. On top of that, the seafood didn’t seem as fresh or high-quality as it normally is. It just didn’t feel like the Ugly Crab experience we’ve come to love.
We’re loyal customers and will absolutely continue to support this place because we’ve had so many great meals here. But we were honestly shocked and disappointed by how far off this visit felt compared to what we’re used to. Hoping it was just a fluke and things are back to normal next time.

My first time here was 02/12 at around 4pm. We were kindly greeted at the front desk and asked what we would like from the menu. We ordered the $45 snow crab crab legs and shrimp boil with potatoes and corn in garlic butter to share. The food was promptly served by the woman that greeted us. Everything tasted great and was cooked to perfection but the crab legs took a lot of work to get the small amount of meat out. With two drinks the total was almost $60, kind of expensive. If you decide to try this place out, I would recommend the king crab but expect to pay good money. I may be back, the flavors and service was great.

The food is great, especially the lobstertails! Prices are acceptable for what you get. Coleslaw seemed fresh and housemade. The sauce was amazing and on point. Overall a good experience. Unfortunately it is a bit of a self-serve-style. You need to come to the counter to order, fill your own drink at the soda machine and bring your trash and tray to the station. Just not what I’d expect at that pricepoint and the restaurant being almost empty. Music was modern pop, not fitting too well! I would still come again 🙂

We got a combo with Crab legs, lobster tails, shrimp, and sausage. The flavor of the 3 sauce combo was great. However the heat of the food was inconsistent. Some was really hot and then others were barely warm. The lobster was over cooked and chewy. The establishment itself was very dimly lit and on a Thursday night, we were the only people there.

Had an amazing Friday evening here. Love how they are decorated for Christmas and the music is at a perfect volume to enjoy but still converse. I’d say this place is comparable in taste to the boiling but a tad cheaper. I also felt a lot more welcomed upon entering and then later when we were even offered a buttered croissant! It tasted great! We ordered a pound of shrimp, pound of king crab legs, and a pound of snow crab legs along with sausage.

The next stop in my travels. Avon, Indiana. Driven by it many times but never stopped in. Today was the day. I’m impressed. My food was very good and hot. I asked for the recommended sauce and it was a great choice. Folks, if you are looking for fresh seafood, better than Red Lobster, then look no further. Thank me later. You can order ahead and pick it up. I’m sure you can have a food delivery service pick it up for you.

Nice meal – split 1 lb crab/1 lb shrimp combo with hubs. With 2 drinks & a side of sausage it was about $65. Other options are less expensive though. Just added garlic butter since the dude doesn’t do heat but there is a variety of hot sauce available to kick it up a notch. Super fast – not sure we waited 5 minutes after we ordered for food to arrive. Clean tables with your own trash can & paper towels. Self serve drinks. Can’t be a weekly place for us ($) but we’ll be back.
