Pizza Pete’s is inconsistent but when they get it right it’s worth repeating. March 2023 was a successful takeout, but prior to this we were unable to get two other choices off of their menu for two different weeks because they did not have the ingredients listed on hand. (Steak and cheese and sausage) But, the hot ham grinder in January was very good and three grinders we had this weekend were all delicious – meatball, sausage and chicken parm. The chicken parm was notable for its quality of chicken, and the meatball and sausage (all with peppers) were also flavorful and well made.

My partner has dropped in after work a couple of times in the last two months in search of something to eat and bring home, and they have been really good. The eggplant is fresh, chicken parm lightly fried, meatballs are true meatballs and not sliced from a loaf, right amount of seasoned sauce and bake time plus plenty of cheese. Fillings are plentiful. $16. for the 16″ but most everyone won’t get past half of it so it breaks down to $8.00 a meal. Not bad and worth the stop.

Love their sauce, slightly sweet and garlicky. So tasty and delicious! Meatballs are always seasoned perfectly. Great little pizza joint and all of their food always tastes fresh.

It’s changed hands recently but the pizza is mostly the same. It’s solid and I have no complaints about the quality of the ingredients, the service nor the cooking. It’s more just personal preference on what type of pizza I like. I stop here once in a while when going into Avon is too far for me. One thing I’d like to see is their “weekly special” become weekly. If you can’t offer one weekly, then try monthly. When you announce you have a weekly special *and some have looked very enticing), customers come to expect that there will be a special pie every week. It might bring you more business as your regular pies, while fine, are nothing to get excited about.

I’ve always enjoyed PP over the last 20+ yrs and stop in when I’m back in the area. It looks like it’s under new ownership and I’m guessing working out the kinks. I ate there two times during my stay. I’d like to see an actual Greek salad (not the chef’s salad but with feta and a few different olives). The margharetta pizza looked exactly like a regular cheese pizza (and arrived with no fresh basil) just more expensive. The dough was good.

Best pizza in Connecticut. The crust is soft and crunchy at the same time, the cheese is real, the sauce is sweet, everything is fresh on order. It is the best place to go for pizza bar none. Yes the prices are higher then others, but the owner will not sacrifice quality and real ingredients over imitation ones. AND they help first responders and line workers during major storms with discounts. The staff may seem young, but they are always the nicest most respectful kids you’ll meet.

EDIT: Generally really good pizza. We order pizza here regularly and often are pleased with the quality and taste of the pizza. The staff are usually very friendly and they are usually on time of only off by a few minutes when you order. The sauce is tasty, as is the crust on the pizza.
Occasionally we’ve had a few long waits or occasional ordering mishaps, but those seem to occur at a low frequency. I can’t give them five stars because of this but ultimately a quality place to get a great pie!

Went in there tonight to see an older man belitting a scared looking young girl. Pizza i picked up was good. Always liked this place, especially for slices. Unfortunately shame on him. If someone talked to my daughter that way at work we would have a problem. I will never be back.
