Super nice and amazing tamales. Hit it up on the way home from work. The red pork and poblano and cheese are so good. Perfect meat to masa ratio. Going back for sure!

Great place to get tamales especially in Joliet, you basically getting your money worth cause the tamales are a good size there big compared to others around the neighborhood.
Plus they give u a tray if you order a lot so it looks nice when u take it to a big gathering!

Seen this place on tik tok, decided to go this morning. Got some verde, rojo, rajas ,oaxaqueños 1 verde 1 mole , strawberry and piña. The Oaxa mole was a 10 and the verde also. Reg green a strong 8 red a strong 7, rajas 6 only because it has onion slivers inside it. 40+ yrs eating tamales de rajas and never have I seen one with onion slivers till today. But if you like onions like that it may be a 10 for you. Strawberry and pineapple a strong 7. Overall good tamales id definitely go back for the oaxaqueños Mole ones. Wife being boricua she loved the green oaxaqueños because of the flavor the leaf gives it similar to pasteles!

This was my first trip to this restaurant as I was craving tamales and googled a place near me. The lady was very friendly and greeted me right away. I didn’t wait a long time and the tamales were hot! The outside of the tamales were not done all the way and was mushy and one was runny . I’ll try again in a few months.

Managed to get some tamales this morning. The place is Cash-Only. They had more of selection but today they only had Strawberry and Pork tamales available. They were $2.30 each, so $32 and some change for a dozen. The dozen came in a disposable aluminum foil pan and covered with aluminum foil. They were piping hot. They were very oily, not of the familiar type to me, corn husk wrapped but of a plantain (think banana) leaves. One needed a napkin just to pick one up, they were oily all over. Taking it apart they were filled nicely with pork. Each tamale was about twice the size of the usual corn-husk type so that justifies the price. The corn-husk type I typically pay a dollar or so each so the price is definitely reasonable. The tamale flavor was as you would expect as from a corn-husk type but not at all spicey. You may want to add your own spice/sauce to taste. I found a small bone in the first one I tried, not sure that was supposed to be there. I have had Plantain wrapped tamales before. They were usually from a different region like Puerto Rico. They were sweeter than the typical Mexican variety found here in Joliet, with ingredients like raisins and plantain mixed in the masa. This was not the case here. They also sold desert corn-husk tamales. I purchased one. It was strawberry flavor. It is definitely not a lunch or dinner meal since it is filled with a sweet Custard thus making it a dessert in my opinion and it was delicious. A desert tamale- something new to me! They have no indoor seating as of yet but I hear that is coming soon. Again, the hours are limited to 5am to 2pm M- Sat. I hear they will expand into the evening later. If you are having a big event, this might be the place to get your tamales. Order ahead of time and again- CASH ONLY.

Picked up food. Was greeted by a friendly person food was great. I am heavy eater and 3 tamales filled me up plenty. My stomach said stop but my taste buds said give me more. Nice heavy with a thick masa and a good balance of meat. I really enjoyed the queso con rajas and puerco (pork). The masa may be white but the seasoning in the meat makes up for it. You may think the price is high but the tamale is worth it. No disrespect to the people trying to make an honest extra dollar but try this place and you will have a new standard and realize that you will get more for your money here And yes I am Mexican and my family will continue to go from Romeoville to this place when we don’t have any of our own home made inventory

I love tamales, and this place does not disappoint. The tamales are full of meat and flavor. The masa is soft and moist. The chicken mole Oaxaca style is phenomenal. The regular tamales are $2.50 each, and the Oaxaca tamales are $3.50 each. Credit card pricing is higher. The pepper and cheese tamale took me by surprise since they were bell peppers, onions, and cheese (not spicy like I’m used to). Highly recommend this place if you live tamales. They don’t sell anything else – that’s how you know it’s good!
