Social Profile:

The Bear Necessities Cafe is an eclectic local eatery offering Italian-style coffee, fresh made pastries, breakfast and lunch. Our breakfast menu is small, but delish. We do bagels, breakfast sandwiches, avocado toast, frittatas and homemade decadent pastries. Our lunch consists of inventive sandwiches made with fresh ingredients and love, salads, and homemade soups. We’re serious about our coffee and make our own syrups. Come in and enjoy your time here in the beautiful mountains of north Georgia. You’ll love Dahlonega as much as we do! Please note our kitchen closes thirty minutes before closing time at 2:00 pm Monday, Thursday-Saturday and closes at our regular time of 1:00 pm on Sunday.

We were on our way home from Helen and found this awesome cafe. First of all, I love a good pun in name so I was drawn to that. Secondly, the place was so cute and decorated like a cabin so it felt very homey.
They had spread of baked goods and pastries, but we went with some good ol coffee and I got homemade egg bites and a fresh side salad. The egg bites were fluffy and delicious, and just needed a pinch of salt. The salad was light and fresh, it was all the perfect amount of healthy food to start my day! The staff were so friendly and kind, I can’t wait to come back when we’re in GA again!

This cafe is cozy & has all the Christmas vibes right now. The staff were wonderful, patient and gave recommendations. They use local businesses which I loved to hear. I had the Rudolph holiday iced coffee (10/10), the Caprese sandwich (9/10) and my husband had the Cornucopia sandwich (9/10). They have coffee flights for $20 which I would recommend since they have so many great options.

Beautiful coffee shop, like walking into a well-off close friend’s house for some coffee/tea and breakfast/lunch. We had a couple of everything bagels with cream cheese and and everything bagel breakfast sandwich with sausage egg and cheese and a side of pasta salad. Everything was delicious, although it did take a long time for the food to be delivered to our table, about 15 minutes on a Monday morning.

There’s almost like a kitchen table and a couch and a couple of conference tables, just a great spot to catch up with a friend or have a quick business meeting or grab a quick bite.

Definitely not cheap, but the decor matches the prices. If we lived nearby I’m sure we’d be here every week.

Brought our dog with us and we were able to sit at a table outside.

There’s a lot of great coffee options here at fair prices. Although, the quality and presentation of the drinks we got were quite mediocre. The food options were great though, I got the burrito and the portion was large and in general, flavorful. We also had a pastry, the “Morning Bun” I believe it was called which unfortunately was just too dry. The space is nicely decorated and cozy. Service itself seemed a bit disheveled but we got everything we ordered in time.

I feel like Bear Necessities Cafe is a little bit of a hidden gem in Dahlonega. Cool, laid-back vibe with pretty good coffee (they serve Break Coffee Roasters out of Duluth) and plenty of pastry options to choose from, which is awesome. Seasonal drinks are always fun, and the staff couldn’t be nicer. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in town.

Amazing breakfast and coffee! We fell in love with the atmosphere and cozy/modern cabin aesthetic. Everything about this cafe was fantastic, even down to the music they played was so lovely. We greatly appreciate Ali and her exceptional customer service and friendliness.

While visiting Dahlonega, we decided to try out this place. We were greeted by the two front ladies. They were very friendly and helpful. The food was awesome and tasted so good! This is one of the best coffees I’ve had. The decor and ambiance are amazing. Very calm and relaxing! Make sure to try their cookies! We will definitely come back next time we’re in this part of town.
