This ramen restaurant was really good overall. I actually ordered sushi, and it was fresh and well prepared. The atmosphere was comfortable, and the service was solid. They also have a happy hour, which is a nice bonus and makes it an even better value. Plan to spend around $25 per person after tax and tip, which felt reasonable for the quality. I’d definitely come back and try more from the menu.

We loved it. Sat on the patio and enjoyed the gorgeous weather. Service was friendly and fast and the food was delicious. Our server knew the menu well and made thoughtful recommendations. I loved that we could order a side of plain ramen noodles for our 4 year old.

Extremely great food with excellent service. I believe my server’s name was Sammy, she was a great server. I found the name off of the receipt, so hopefully thats right.

The tonkatsu was also good as well, the chasu was tender and the broth had a nice smokey taste to it. I also like the noodles they used, its like hakata style noodles which is my preference over other ramen noodles.

The atmosphere was nice too, i like what they did with the ceiling and art display was extremely great effort too.

My partner and I were feeling some soup today and ended up choosing Shio as our lunch spot. We arrived around 1 PM on a Saturday and were honestly surprised as to how empty it was. We were greeted and seated immediately.

We were offered the lunch special which ran until 2 PM that day. We ended up getting the Spicy Shio and Tonkotsu ramen ($13 each) as well as the Rainbow Roll and the Crunch Spicy Tuna Roll ($4 each if I recall?). For the value, this was an excellent lunch option. We also got the Crispy Rice spicy tuna appetizer ($10 for 5 pieces).

After this meal, my partner and I whole-heartedly agree this is our favorite ramen spot currently in Phoenix, factoring value and taste as the most deciding factors. Their tonkotsu ramen was a mix of pork/chicken base – making it balanced between a lighter/thinner ramen both, yet still maintaining a flavor you’d expect from tonkotsu ramen. The spicy miso had a mild kick – so for a person like me who likes spicy, it was probably the minimum I’d like from a ramen, and for someone who doesn’t like ramen, just be careful it might catch up to you after a few bites. With that being said, the spice isn’t overpowering in my opinion, and the flavors all balance well. The chashu was soft and flavorful, and not too salty. The noodles were springy and chewy, not too overcooked or al dente.

The Rainbow roll comes with a mix of white tuna, shrimp, salmon, and regular tuna. The crunchy spicy tuna roll was 8 pieces with tempura flakes (although to me I might call it closer to panko flakes?) on top. Both of these rolls were good options and the sushi tasted fresh without a lasting “fishy” taste.

I ended my meal with a spicy tuna hand roll. The seaweed comes in a plastic wrap, so you know it’s about to be fresh and not soggy. It comes with a good bit of tuna that had a small kick but not too spicy. It was a good last bite.

Since moving to Phoenix, my partner and I have slowly been adding restaurants to our repertoire of restaurants we’d visit again or restaurants we’d take friends if they visited. Shio easily makes this currently short list. I wish I could gatekeep this restaurant, but I feel like I’d be doing them a disservice in doing so. We felt like we got great value coming in for their lunch special, but we’d come back even for their full price menu (which itself is not outrageously overpriced like other ramen places or other restaurants can be nowadays).

the spicy miso ramen was one of the best bowls of ramen i’ve ever had. the pork was cooked perfectly and was tender, the broth wasnt overly spicy, and everything blended together well. the kimchi was great too!

Absolutely loved it — the broth was rich, delicate, and perfectly balanced with that clean, savory flavor you only get from true craftsmanship. The noodles had just the right texture, and every topping complemented the bowl beautifully. You can taste the care and skill in every bite. Easily one of the best ramen experiences I’ve had — comforting, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Shio is essentially a hidden gem and tucked away off the main road. It is sandwiched between multiple other restaurants so pay attention to the doors!

Overall the aesthetic is sleek and modern and the staff is extremely friendly. Newton made the experience more enjoyable with his humor and suggestions and seemed very genuine.

Now….the Ramen. We took Newtons recommendation and ordered the creamy chicken which was not on the menu and let me say it’s the best Ramen I have had outside of Japan. Happy hour pricing at dinner is the icing on the cake.

10/10 come check this place out before it gets too busy.

I was excited to see that another ramen joint opened up here after Clever Ramen closed. My husband and I were happy with our food and felt that we received a good meal for the price point!
Our server was a bit flustered and sometimes took awhile to check-in on us. We weren’t too bothered with it since we both know how it is to work in a restaurant but he recognized it, apologized and comped our sushi for us! Overall we had a pleasant experience and plan to come back again in the future.

Wow! This is going to sound like a paid review, but we were just in Japan for two weeks and this still might be the best ramen we’ve ever had. Everything was 10/10; the food, the vibe and the service. Shout out to Newton, he did a great job entertaining us and educating us on the different noodle textures. The broth was so rich and creamy, the pork melts in your mouth. The prices are accommodating enough to dine here frequently.

Shio Ramen & Crudo is a new gem in Scottsdale! The location is easy to get to and has a cool, welcoming atmosphere. The food is fantastic—rich, flavorful ramen and super fresh sushi that’s beautifully done. You can tell they put real care into their ingredients and presentation.

I went during lunch and the pricing was amazing—especially for the quality. Their happy hour deals are also a great reason to stop by again soon.

A special shoutout to my server, Newton—he was so friendly, helpful, and made the whole experience even better. Great service makes a huge difference, and he really nailed it.

I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
