Had the daily special of meat loaf got to say I don’t normally order that but it was really good. Also had some good cocktails . And my family member got beef sandwiches that was good too. I recommend the stop even if you just want a drink.

Great service and the best quality food I’ve had in the area. This place deserves a much higher rating, IMO. However, as we were leaving we spoke with some very disgruntled customers. They were very unhappy about the bartender being on the phone too much, neglecting their service. They were not pleased about the amount of time they spent trying to get a check & cash out.
To counter that experience, we were well taken care of by our waitress.
They had a solid draft selection and a tasty-looking cocktail menu.
My chicken fried steak was one of the best I’ve had (it’s my go-to for new diners.) It was tender and flavorful with ZERO gristle–a level of meat quality so rare I can’t remember the last time I’ve eaten a CFS like this. The crust was huge and crunchy. The sawmill gravy was excellent (my first time hearing this term). Pots & veggies were tasty.
Fish & Chips were solid. The grilled lemon was a classy touch.
I can’t wait to come back!
A week later: couldn’t resist the CFS again While it wasn’t grisle-free, it was still as excellent as before.
We sat at the bar and Bob offered us perfect service– checking in when appropriate, ensuring we had everything we needed–even intercepting a mistranslation from the kitchen. Love this place, especially when I have a hard time finding quality food that isn’t too expensive in the area.
3rd visit, ~a week later: one server, one bartender, two cooks – WAAAAY too few staff for how busy they were.
The staff were doing their damndest, but there’s only so much limited staff can do. Folks were waiting for a seat for quite a while. At times, several groups were waiting for a seat with no staff on the floor (helping in the kitchen, we discovered). Sometimes the bartender would pause a drink to act as a host. It was a great team doing their best. Management needs to hire and schedule more staff. Good was great as usual.

We’ve visited Roy’s three times now and really wanted to love it. The food has consistently been hot and tasted good, which we truly appreciate. However, service has been a challenge during each visit.
On our most recent visit, it took about 20 minutes to be seated with a party of four, including a child, even though there appeared to be open tables. After sitting down, it took several minutes before we were greeted. Our server brought waters and later took drink orders, but there wasn’t much communication about timing or whether they were short staffed.
Once we placed our order, we waited close to an hour for our food. We completely understand that restaurants can get busy and staffing can be tight — we just would have appreciated a quick update along the way. A little communication goes a long way and helps set expectations.
When our food arrived, part of the order was incorrect (we had requested a salad and soup substitution but only received fries). The server corrected it, and the food itself was good. It did come out at different times, and we noticed another table seated after us received their food much sooner, which was a bit confusing.
We truly want to support Roy’s and hope this feedback is helpful. With stronger communication and smoother service flow, it could be a great experience.

We used to love this place and have recommended it to others – I recind that now. We went out last night first time there in a while. Menu smaller, proces higher, food was not homemade like before. We dined for 90 minutes. Chicken used to made fresh, in homemade batter – now just a frozen chicken fried – like most restaurants. salad dressings used to be homemade, now bottle dressing. Order was wrong, water was warm – it was difficult to enjoy. We won’t be returning. Sorry.

Roy’s Bar and Grill is a relaxed, down home grill that serves great food! The serving size is gigantic, I had Parmesan Chicken sandwich which was delicious and had lots of fries. The service was very friendly and prompt. Lots of TVs up around the bar for those that watch games. I have several friends that really like Roy’s and I’m glad we tried it!

Cant remember the server but she was a sweet lady that treated us with the upmost respect, we decided to stop here coming down from Tahoe and got to say that her costumer service made our day. Went here for lunch with a group of 6 and the service was terrible. We stood in the entrance for at least 10 minutes before being seated and when we were there was dust in the cups and one roll of silverware for the six of us. We were served lukewarm tap water after our order then left a bottle of cloudy white water that wasn’t refilled for the entirety of our visit. After our orders were taken we waited over an hour for our food to arrive. In this time our waitress visited us once for a refill of coke. When our food came we got half of our food and had to wait another five minutes for the rest to come out. Still only one napkin and set of cutlery for the six of us. As we ate the only waitress in the building would talk back to other tables when they asked for updates on their food. “I can’t bring you what I don’t have” and several other similar phrases were used in response to these questions. After asking for and paying our bill, our waitress returns to our table and asks where our friend who paid the bill went, with the intention to complain about the tip she was lucky to even get. She asked us “are you sure your friend doesn’t need his two dollars? He might need it more than I do.” And “two dollars on a $100 bill?? (it was $87) Have you ever heard of 20%?” And quickly stormed off with no opportunity for further conversation. Our afternoon lunch turned into a 2 hour nightmare of being ignored and talked down to. The food was okay, but the service is absolutely horrid. If you’re looking for a good quick spot for lunch don’t come here.

I came for lunch with a colleague we sat down ordered our food. After 37 minutes of waiting the table that was seated 15 minutes after us got their food, it appeared they were friends or regulars. I ordered chicken fingers and French fries which certainly don’t take 37 minutes to fry up. Not to mention the place wasn’t very busy. Would not recommend

I was told about Roy’s from a couple of friends. I have been there several times. Fish and chips, lettuce wraps are amazing. The cheeseburgers are very good. Kyra waited on us last time and recommended the lettuce wraps. Kyra is an excellent server, she gets customer service. Its a little dark in the restaurant but it is clean.
