It had been a little while since our last visit to Mason Dixon Saloon, and after this meal, I need to make sure my next trip back happens a lot sooner! Everything from the starters to the main course was simply outstanding.
If you are looking for the perfect way to kick off your meal, do yourself a favor and order the Dixon Dice, Cheese Curds, and the Portobello mushrooms. They make for an incredible appetizer lineup that sets the stage for the rest of the night.
But the real star of the show is the Sunday night ribs—they absolutely do not disappoint! A quick pro-tip: get there early! These are incredibly popular and have a tendency to sell out fast. What I love most is how the ribs are prepared. They don’t come drowning in barbecue sauce; instead, they are seasoned to absolute perfection, letting the flavor of the meat really shine. If you are a sauce lover, you can request their BBQ sauce on the side. We heard it is homemade, and it is indeed really good!
Even if you aren’t interested in ribs, they offer a full menu of other fantastic items to choose from. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything you order off the menu here.

Stopped in for a beer and wings, wings were cooked perfectly could have been a little less salty but the outside was a bit crispy which was good and they were not soaking in sauce just the right amount. I will definitely be back.

Food was excellent, hot and not a long wait. Must try the Dixon Dice! Bartender was very attentive and polite. It’s a nice relaxing place to watch sports. Iowa Baseball and Indian Fever games were on the big screen tvs at the bar. Glad we stopped here for lunch!

My experience was less than ideal. I understand that a Saturday night can be very crazy and that staffing is difficult. However there are only a few tables in the place. We asked the bartender if we could sit in the open table. He confirmed with the waitress that would be fine. The bartender gave us our drinks and we went to the table. The waitress walked by us multiple times in the 30 minutes that we waited at the front table. Did not ever acknowledge that we were sitting there. Not even a “I will be right with you!” As a former server, you at least make eye contact and acknowledge when walking past. People at the bar that came in after us had their order taken and we didn’t get so much as a Hi!.We left money on the table that hopefully covered our drinks and left because we couldn’t even get the attention to pay for them. Only positive was the music was great while we were sitting there!

This is neat looking bar with a western style. We stopped in to watch the Packer game on our way through. They have 5 large TVs over the bar making it great for watching sports. The bathrooms were clean and the food was good. I had the Reuben which could have used more kraut and dressing, but was good regardless. The beer was good as well and they have a decent selection. The reason I couldn’t give 5 stars is due to the fact that I am a beer drinker that prefers draft beer. They do not have any taps. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this venue.
