A Must-Visit in Haines / Alaska!
I’ve honestly never experienced such warm and genuinely friendly service anywhere before — absolutely outstanding! We came here twice during our stay: once for breakfast, which was exceptional, and once for dinner — also fantastic.
The food is top-notch, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. But what truly makes this place special is the staff. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and taken care of. You don’t just eat here — you feel at home.
A huge THANK YOU to the whole team — you’re amazing!
If you’re in the area: go there, you won’t regret it!

A nice bakery in Haines that also serves some good Thai and Amerucan food. Has a comfortable atmosphere with indoor or outdoor seating available to your preference. We got the cod and chips for lunch and some donuts to go for later. Prices are steep but to be expected for dining in Alaska. They serve Coke products and have clean restrooms, which is always a bonus when you’re on the road. It’s worth a stop if you’re in the area.

In a town filled with fish and chips, Chilkat offers Thai cuisine for a change!
Their Thai food is amazing.
The lady owner is such a social butterfly and she calls everyone “my dear” and brings smiles to all customers.

This is a really great place. Yes, they serve great Thai food but also all types of other food as well. The bakery is all delicious and homemade. The Thai food that we had was all homemade as well and amazing. We had the Pad Kee Mao rice noodles (drunken noodles) and they were so good! The Yellow Curry with Cod was also awesome! Came back a second day for more!
The rhubarb cake/pastry Miki the owner gave us as a gift was crazy good! We need MORE! We asked Miki for some of her story: she came to Hanes, AK 20 years ago and bought the restaurant. Been here ever since with her mom and some girls that help seasonally. Such a great group of friendly folks and great cooks/bakers!

Cute little bakery with some great choices. We picked the almond croissant and the rhubarb fritter. Both were top notch!

There are not many diner options in Haines. We stopped here for a light diner – an order of egg rolls and we shared one soup. Food was tasty but the kitchen was very slow. They could definitely use more help.

Beautiful place to sit and eat. Clean, food is tasty, had the vegetarian omelet, which was packed full of great veggies! The wait staff very sweet & seems like a family business. Definitely would return to try the Thai food at a later date. Wifi good!

We went here for the Thai food that was very tasty but took a while to get. Some of the sides and drinks are a bit overpriced but they have a very nice selection of pastries and cookies ready for purchase or desert. Best Thai food in town.

I thought the food was very good but my friend did not seem to think so – interesting! Service is extremely slow, so beware of that… Price is a bit high but I kinda expected that at this point. There aren’t many restaurants in Haines and I would say this is a better one out of the bunch.

The baked goods we had were absolutely delicious, enjoyed the apple pie and the pecan pie and both were to die for. The other too sweet, could definitely taste the flavour of apples rather than just sugar. The bakery was open when we arrived in town even though Google showed they were closed. We just stopped by on a whim while walking around town. Definitely worth the stop.
