I first discovered Kaans Bakery on my way to an appointment in Millsboro a couple of years ago, and it was love at first bite. Everything was absolutely delectable! Recently, we moved to Millsboro, and I couldn’t be happier that I no longer have to wait for a special trip to enjoy it.
Kaans is a small, woman-owned business that truly deserves the community’s support. The interior may be a bit older, but it’s always spotless and has a charming, quaint 1960s vibe that adds to its character.
What I didn’t realize at first is that they offer much more than baked goods. They also serve lunch and dinner. Their stone-fired pizza is hands down the best I’ve found in the area. And believe me, we’ve been searching for a good pizza spot for quite some time!
The staff is consistently friendly, welcoming, and always happy to answer any questions. But the real star of the show is dessert. Whether it’s a cronut (croissant-donut hybrid) or a cake for the whole family, they never miss the mark. Everything is fresh, homemade, and absolutely delicious.
If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and check out this hidden gem. You won’t be disappointed!

Stopped there for the first time tonight for pizza and was also captivated by the baked goods. We got the margarita pizza, cherry cheese cake, and mini coconut cake. The pizza was by far the best pizza I’ve ever had. The crust was perfectly crispy and the sauce was not too over powering. What stole the show for the pizza was the globs of ricotta cheese perfectly placed throughout the pizza like little pockets of love. I will be dreaming of this pizza until I’m able to eat it again! The cheese cakes were good! The coconut cake was a great balance of cake vs icing but not too sweet. Great job Kaans!

The Fresh Breads And Pastry From This Bakery Is Incredible. It’s A Lil Hidden Gem‼️ The Sandwiches With The Homemade Bread Is So Good. I Have Had The Turkey , And The Garden Fresh Which Is Vegetarian But They Were Accommodating To Add Turkey To That , And To fix Anything to my specifics . The Fries Deserve a nod to , they taste hand cut but I don’t know. I have tried different pastries as well as cake slices all good. 10/10 I recommend to eat in or take out. They seem to have a very plentiful coffee bar that I have not tried yet . It gives a peaceful front porch for eating in or choice of cozy inside vibe.

Wow! My wife and I discovered Kaan’s Bakery a couple of weeks ago and love this place. It’s a small town bakery located on a backroad in Millsboro. They specialize in cakes, muffins, pastries, cookies and more. They definitely have attracted the attention of all the locals, as they have a steady stream of carry-out customers. What attracted us was their Sunday brunch. It includes eggs cooked to order, freshly cooked bacon, sausage, corned beef, scrapple (a local delicacy), potatoes, pancakes, french toast, fresh cantaloupe and an assortment of sample pastries. Don’t know what brand coffee they have, but its rich flavor is outstanding! The atmosphere is fantastic! We feel like we are in a little European cafe, with soft music playing in the background and fresh bakery smells enhancing the experience. Try it! Hope you love it, as much as we do!

By far the best spot in Delaware. My family is originally from Long Island and Kaan’s is the closest thing to NY pizza we’ve found. It’s absolutely delicious, always fresh and tastes like home. The pastries are out of this world and also taste like they’ve all been made that day. The staff is always incredibly friendly and have treated us like family from our first visit. They have lifetime customers in us ! I recently broke my ankle and they even sent some extra goodies over for me, so blessed to have them a block away !

Went for brunch on Sunday around 11:45 (though it goes until 1pm). No other diners while we were there, but several folks came in and out picking up orders while we were eating.
And oh LORD were we eating the woman helping us (maybe one of the owners?) made several fresh pieces of french toast and pancakes and took away what we had picked up on the buffet (it honestly looked fine, but I was impressed she took the initiative to do so!), made an omelet to order with cheese, brought more fresh sausage, bacon, and scrapple, AND fresh dipped two strawberries in chocolate for us
The only bummer was that they were out of sausage gravy by the time we got there, and the bagels were slightly stale, but everything was so delicious and the service was so fantastic it wasn’t an issue at all.
I honestly think they’d do great if they tried it like japanese buffets do, where you get a sheet for the table and check off what you want each round to prevent waste. But that’s just a recommendation ☺️ 10/10 can’t wait to come back again soon!!
OH and I can’t forget to call out the amazing prices!! It was $14/person which for this area and the service was more than fair. Thanks for a great meal!!
