I moved to Florham Park 3 years ago, back then different owners, the food was decent, although the Maplewood location is my favorite!
Today I gave the East Hanover location another try…well, 3 strikes you’re OUT!! I ordered hot and spicy shrimp, the menu says it’s sweet and spicy. The name should read spicy onions with baby shrimp. It was literally spicy red sauce with lots and lots of diced onions and some baby shrimp thrown in. Absolutely horrible, hot sauce and crunchy onions!!!

The food was amazing!!
I don’t care what anybody else says. It was excellent! 5 of us went and 5 of us loved it.
Amazing. Noodles and tea just like the good ole days!
And the service was great. This woman working there was all over our table and the others.

I felt like it was an Italian restaurant with Nonna serving us!!

Was in the mood for Chinese food and while most places were closed on this particular evening, Bill and Harry’s was open and inviting. Very friendly staff and a wide variety on the menu. I had the wonton soup, an egg roll and the pork fried rice. Nailed it! I was completely satisfied with my selection. The name doesn’t sound Chinese, but I assure you it is 100%. Come out and support your local businesses and avoid chains!

Bill & Harrys is the best Chinese food I’ve had in Essex County . It’s our go-to when we are home and it’s comfort food that is authentically Chinatown flavor and Jersey style.
The fish fillet in garlic and ginger sauce – so much fish, so fresh and delicious!

Bill and Harry’s food is very fresh and authentic. The service is always pleasant and usually not a long wait at lunch time. Take out is available if you want to enjoy at home, call order in for less pick-up.

First time here yesterday on a Sunday. Food was mediocre. We had edamame, a sizzling beef and shrimp platter, orange chicken. The sizzling platter would have been better had it not been over cooked it had a burnt taste. The rest was ok. The place is small, but cozy. The servers we had were not welcoming at all. We were basically rushed the whole dinner and brought the check at 8pm. Rushed out the doors. They close at 8:30pm. Just poor Customer Service. Not friendly. I do not recommend even if there is nothing around open on a Sunday. Poor experience. I would not recommend at all.

I came in with one other person for dinner. While the food was decent, the service was below what we expected, so we decided to leave a standard 10% tip. That’s when the waiter came over, looked at our check, shook his head, and pointed to the recommended 22% tip at the bottom of the receipt. He then proceeded to gossip with the other servers while they all stood near the exit. They stared at us trying to intimidate us into changing the tip. This behavior was completely unprofessional. Avoid this place—it’s out of hand.

Our quest for a great dine-in Chinese restaurant continues so we decided to try Bill & Harry’s. My wife and I both started with egg rolls. They were ok, but not the big, fat, deep fried version I recall from my childhood in NYC. I also tried the wonton soup. The broth was good, but it only had two skimpy, but tasty, wontons. The soup had scallions, but no pork slivers. For a main course my wife had sesame chicken which she really enjoyed. It was served with steam broccoli. For a main course I had the pork dumplings. They were pretty good, but a bit gummy. I was disappointed that they were a bit cold. Overall the food was ok, but the menu is a bit pricey. The search goes on!

Was in the mood for Chinese food. Found this place on the map, walked in and the staff was sitting at a table making dumplings with no gloves on. They looked at me and said nothing, finally I tell them it’s just me for lunch. They take me to a sit and walk away. They show up with water and little chips like thing. I was given a menu and give me 10 seconds to order. While being told that they have no lunch menu at 11:30? I said ok and ordered from the dinner meals. The dumplings were delicious and the lo main was no incredibly salty I didn’t eat it. I asked for the bill and the food to go. Not one server or employee comes to ask me if I need anything or if I’m doing ok. Fine I don’t really like to talk to people anyways. They give me the bill I pay and leave. The employee walks out and literally asked me for a tip? I said u didn’t take my order or provided any service for me? Plus u guys have a sign at the door that states u take 3% from credit card sell? Overall some of the rudest most ridiculous experience I have ever had eating lunch. As I was leaving the ladies that took care of me when I walked in where sat at the table eating nuts and having coffee. But this dude wants me to leave them a tip? I’ll never be back, I’m not from the area. But the service was horrible and it makes sense where there was 3 people in the restaurant.

This place must have a different owner. I have eaten here in the past and the food was delicious and fresh. Yesterday my experience was completely the opposite and my food went into the garbage after a few bites. The scallion pancakes were so tough and chewy and had zero taste, it was obviously not freshly made. I ordered the general tso’s chicken and the broccoli was old and chewy and the dish was just spicy no taste just spicy hot. I knew I was not getting freshly prepared food because I was shocked at how soon my food came out after ordering in the restaurant. I did not pre-order my food. I even said wow that was fast and not to my surprise the food was far from fresh and tasty. I will not be returning.
