A lovely place for a quiet, yummy meal. Very reasonably priced. Will absolutely be back!

2 hour negative experience, couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Extremely slow service with many empty tables and would have appreciated this communicated to us earlier on. 2 servers and what seemed to be only one chef. Took 45 mins to be acknowledged again after ordering for water refills and to receive a tiny bread basket of 6 pieces of baguette with holes in them for 4 people as well as salads with a lettuce, a drizzle of dressing, 1 cherry tomato, and 1 slice of cucumber. At this point we had been there over an hour and asked for more bread but were told there would be a charge and another 15 mins to toast it. Really? The least a place can do is have bread on hand especially with slow service. Our food finally came and it was plated well but flavorless mashed potatoes, thin chicken breasts, and the old tasting ravioli were disappointing. The bathrooms were outdated and the men’s bathroom door had a significant gap where you can see in even with the door closed. We have driven by so many times and always wanted to try it but will sadly never return.

Dinner was amazing as usual. My husband loves the stroganoff, one of his favorites. We changed it up and got the satay shrimp for an appetizer. I got the duck. I’m afraid Tim has ruined me getting duck anywhere else. His is so good none others compare. Wow! Can’t wait to go back.

The beef stroganoff is exceptional. I couldn’t stop raving about it for days. I will be getting takeout for other family members (outside of the area), so they can enjoy it too!
Looking forward to my next visit

The steak is perfect! My wife and I came here for date night and had a great time. The stone work and old timber’s are beautiful, the service was spot on, great wine selection, and the food is sooo delicious! And when the check came I was surprised by how reasonable the price was. We’ll be back!

Honestly i give them 7/10. Great atmosphere. Food was great except for the fried calamari which I don’t recommend. Rosemary mussles were delicious as was the ahi tuna and salmon. Wine is good and great price.
Minus points for: soft and chewy calamari. Flat 7-up in a shirly temple. When asked for a new drink it was still a bit flat and still charged for both drinks. Service was ok, we got appitizers quick, and salads after, but waited almost a half our in between salad and main course. I would good back a try again.

If you are looking for glitz, lots of shiny chrome and food that is served in just a few minutes on a big plate with little portions and pretty looking sprinkles and designs, then go to NYC – this place is not for you! At the Reservoir Inn you get 1) Tim (owner/Chef), 2) Karen (bartender, waitress, busboy, cashier and host – she may do the dishes, too), 3) old inn atmosphere, 4) good food with a take home container as the portions are huge, and 5) great prices unlike in nearby Woodstock. Everything is cooked to order and is worth the wait. Yesterday, we had a party there attended by 40 friends. The buffet was ready upon arrival, bar was open and service was as expected. Welcome to the Reservoir Inn, a fond memory of what going out to dinner was like in those slower, more relaxed times.
