If this restaurant doesn’t get a Michelin star next week, I will be surprised and disappointed. The experience was fantastic despite my high expectations. Staff was engaging and welcoming. Servers were very helpful with descriptions and suggestions. And the Sommelier was knowledgeable. We enjoyed the 7 course tasting menu with elevated wine pairings. It was not a meal, but a pleasant journey. And contrary to the typical Michelin 4 hour dinner, the pace here at Zero was perfect, approx 2 hrs. Our table room was quiet and easy to converse. I would have liked something printed to take with me describing food/wine we enjoyed.

The bar at Zero George has become a quiet favorite for me. It’s a small intimate space off the path more travelled but if you time it right and find a spot at the bar it’s a great spot for a craft cocktail or glass of wine. I ordered a smoky Old Fashioned and then The Last Word and it was amazing. The bar staff can make some great recommendations and always on top of the craft. I’ve not had dinner here yet but I’m looking forward to it.

Service impecable and food amazing. Enjoyed every single bite and the creativity behind the dishes. We went with the A5 wagyu upgrade with Spanish black truffles and it was a treat but we have had better A5. They mentioned that the beef regardless of the upgrade is fantastic and I believe them because everything we tried in the menu was outstanding.

We visited Zero George over Thanksgiving weekend with a group mixed with very adventurous eaters and some more trepidatious. Along with delivering a star-worthy dining experience, Zero George goes above and beyond by offering substitutions for things like my husband preferring to avoid raw fish. They are focused on making sure each guest enjoys the evening.

One of my absolute favorite additions to the experience was the truly crafted non-alcoholic options. The same care and creativity that was applied to alcoholic cocktails was also applied to their zero proof menu and it was such a delight! As someone who doesn’t often drink, I can tell you this option is not common and it was a real treat for me!

The staff was the perfect blend of highly trained without pretentiousness. The GM visited every table we saw that evening and worked seamlessly with the staff throughout the night.

The ambiance of the property is incredibly lovely!

Between the staff, service, drinks, food, and property, we certainly plan to visit Zero George again!

We returned to Zero George to celebrate my mother’s birthday, and once again, the team delivered an extraordinary experience. From the inventive fall cocktail menu (the shiitake martini is genius!) to the thoughtful attention paid by the staff to my octogenarian mother, every detail felt curated and intentional.

The meal began with a series of stunning small bites — true edible art — and continued with beautifully composed courses. The wagyu cigar remains one of the most delightful amuse-bouches in the Southeast, and the red shrimp dish was a masterclass in unexpected flavor pairings. The halibut with persimmon was perfectly cooked, and the wagyu sirloin with porcini and chestnut was bold and decadent. My only regret was not adding on the A5 wagyu, as my son is still talking about it from our last visit!

Desserts were just as creative, with the shortcake and its balsamic center standing out as a highlight. The service was as gracious as the food was exquisite, and the entire evening left my mother reminiscing about fine meals past — from Cyprus to Seoul to Barcelona. That’s the caliber of experience Zero George delivers.

An absolute gem. We already can’t wait to return.

The best dining experience we have had in Charleston. And when I say “experience” I mean EXPERIENCE! Much more than a meal. The minute we entered the beautiful courtyard on to the small restaurant, I knew we were in for something special. The chef’s menu and staff are excellent. The presentation of the preplanned menu was as if we were dining in Paris. Worth every penny!

The ambiance is superb and my dinner was one of the best meals I have had. Sophisticated and chic with elegance of historical Charleston as the backdrop. The night I went was a set menu with drinks or mock tails. Believe me the mock tails were in some cases better than the set alcohol drinks. The executive chef is a master of his craft & I wish I lived closer so I could experience the food more often.

If I could give this restaurant 6 stars I would! The entire experience was incredible. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by a host who kindly brought us to our table and the superior service continued through the whole dinner. Every waiter/ host was sweet and attentive. Our sommelier was incredibly knowledgeable and made our experience fun while we learned about the wine and the bourbon barrel downstairs! The food was out of this world. After just eating at a 3 Michelin star restaurant in London and a 2 Michelin star restaurant in Brussels, I would say Zero George is on par. Every dish was flavorful and delicious; I did not want the experience to end. We were celebrating my brother’s birthday and the chef kindly signed a menu and brought it out to us. I grew up in Charleston, and know we have delicious food in the area, but Zero George is hands down one of the best experiences I have ever had!

We did the cooking demonstration at Zero George and had a wonderful experience. Chef Vinson Petrillo is clearly passionate about food and creating an experience for guests. We really enjoyed watching his craft and most importantly the food was delicious. My only critique is that the portions were small and there were not ‘wine pairings’ you were just handed a bottle of wine. Other than that one very small critique we cannot wait to return to try the full course tasting menu at Zero George.

Just phenomenal. This review won’t do our experience justice. We were given reservations to a tasting dinner as a wedding gift, and my skeptical husband was completely won over. The space was intimate and lovely, the staff was friendly, professional and knowledgable, and the menu was inventive and delicious. Just outstanding.
