My husband had a taste for some catfish and I googled for places in my area and this restaurant appeared on my search. After reading a few negative and positive reviews, I decided to check them out for myself. It was about an hr and a half before closing so I wasn’t expecting a crowd. I placed a to go order. I saw a small and large fish platter on the menu and asked what was the difference. I was told the small was 3-4 pcs of fish and the large was 4-5, depending on the size of the fish. Ok, so I could work with that. I ordered 2 small fish plates that consisted of fish, hush puppies and 2 sides. The young lady that took my order opened my to go box and showed me the order. The fish pieces were kind of small. One order had 3 full pieces, the other had 2 full pieces with some smaller pieces. The customer service was ok and the wait time for my food was not long at all. When I got home and bit into my hush puppy, it was not done on the inside. The outside was nice and crunchy but the inside was undone. I checked all 3 and all were not cooked on the inside. I only received about 10 fries and they could have been cooked just a smidge longer. The fish was nicely seasoned and really tasty. The slaw was also very tasty. My husband was so hungry that I didn’t get a chance to take a picture of his plate nor get his opinion of his food. I know this review might not sound positive but I’m willing to give them another shot because the fish and slaw were good. The next time I’ll dine in. If the portions were a little larger, the price would not have been an issue. I spent $45 for 2 small fish platters after tax and a small tip.

Been here several times and it was always ok. Today was all you can eat catfish but really was catfish nuggets not fillets and they were terrible. Some baskets were not done and they had this black slimy stuff and it was $20.99 with two sides. I sent back a couple of baskets because they weren’t done. One piece of cornbread was $2.50 and it was like 2×2. I felt tricked. My yams were too sweet but had good flavor but it wasn’t sliced yams it was one sliced yams and crumbles of yams . I don’t think I got one full piece of fish out of the 5 baskets I received. The music in the background is nice and the staff was nice eventhough the young lady was rushing us to get finished. It wasn’t crowded at all so not sure why the rush.

We were craving some fried catfish so we googled to find a new place to try. We are very happy we tried this place. We chose the small catfish platter with 2 sides. The fried catfish, fried okra, collard greens, mac n cheese, and side salad were all delicious! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. We will definitely be back!
UPDATE:
Every time we come everything is amazing!

This was my first time at Trudie’s and food was great. I ordered 3 pcs with greens and cold slaw. However, I changed my mind and replaced the cold slaw for white beans. The waitress was very nice, courteous and professional.
The food came out quickly and hot.
I will definitely try this place again

We had an awesome time! The staff was super friendly, the food was fantastic, and everything ran so smoothly. The owner even checked in on us, which was a really nice touch. Definitely coming back soon!

From the moment we walked in, we were impressed. The restaurant was clean, inviting, and had a welcoming atmosphere. Our food was served hot, fresh, and perfectly seasoned every bite was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. Service was truly top-notch 10/10. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The food arrived in a timely manner, and we never felt rushed or ignored. One of the highlights of our visit was the owner personally coming out to check on us and introduce herself. That small gesture made us feel genuinely welcomed and valued as guests.
The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality of both the food and service. We’ll definitely be back and will be recommending this place to friends and family. If you’re looking for great food, great people, and a great experience, this is the place to go!

So to be perfectly honest,we just happened on this place, my wife and I thought we would give it a try, we got there around 4 in the afternoon, there’s not many tables, has a country feel to it,so after waiting about 20 minutes, they finally brought the food, it was fresh , it was good enough, so this where it goes downhill, we ordered 2 carry outs,, after waiting about 40 minutes we finally got ours, by this time the crowd was arriving, people waiting to be seated, when we got home, one of the dinners had no catfish, the other didn’t have the salad , Mac and cheese was probably cooked by a teenager,so my wife went back, the cashier was very nice, the owner thought we were trying to get over on her, she had a nasty look on her face, the cashier rewarded us with chocolate cake that words can’t describe, but the biggest disappointment is how the owner reacted, servers was great, if you dine in food is above average, I wouldn’t avise a carry out,and this is to the owner, customer is always right,no one wants free food, just give us what we paid for! By the way,the butter roll, ,are dumplings, they are not good at all, maybe they will get better

When we visited they hadn’t been open all that long, we came at 2 in the afternoon on a Friday and it did take a while to get our order but it arrived hot and tasted really good. Today we both ordered the catfish today but there are a lot of other items that look well worth trying. Try and save room for desert as the chocolate with ice cream is very good. Enjoy

If you have been traveling up and down Brunswick Road over the years, you know the building. This was the Brunswick General Store and had a barber shop and the Brunswick post office in the back on of the building.
Times change and the building changed ownership and names. It became a couple of operations including the Brusnwick Kitchen. However, the name had was registered with the state and can no longer be used. So it is now Trudies Catfish Cabin.
Oh, how I wish they made a good pizza and served beer. We really need this in the area!
This isn’t the first time I’ve been here and I’ll return. However tonite, I’d like to highlight the Catfish Tacos. Three tacos for $12.99, and folks these are a better deal than many other places fish tacos. The three of them are a meal by themselves. I was with a three others tonite, and for all of us, the three tacos apiece was more than enough.
For the two of us, our bill was $35.00 and consisted of two orders of fish tacos, drinks, and one order of french fries for the table.
As for the Tacos:
First off, these folks are using a nicely cooked catfish filet. It has only a few topping including a secret sauce that does not detract from the taste of the fish.
Second off, the tacos were soft and flaky, and the server said these were made on site.
Our server tonite was a young man and he was taking care of business; he would have made Quark the bar keeper proud.
Lastly, this is a quiet place. The TV was on a basket ball ball game. Tonite the music was generic soft jazz. Sometimes in the afternoon its on an R&B channel for the music. The music sits in the background and doesn’t interrupt conversations. The interior is softly decorated amd comfortable.
There are two photos that go with this review: Front Door, Fish Tacos
While this is not a five star establishment, as nothing disrupted the dinner giving a 5 star rating.

Hubby and I both had fries with our meals and we each received about 10 skimpy fries on each plate. They were good and hot. So I ordered an additional basket of them to share between us. When they arrived at the table, I stared down at the less than half filled basket of fries in disbelief and asked the waitress if this was a full order of fries? She replied “yes ma’am”. I asked, “A full order is $4?” She politely answered, “No ma’am, they’re $3.50.” I just stared at the fries and thanked her. I glanced at her as she walked away and was shocked and repulsed to see she was wearing black see-thru joggers with a pair of white thongs that were clearly visible. That was not what I wanted to see as I consumed my food. We also noticed that the drinking glasses were old and dinghy looking.
