For airport restaurants, this place is quite good. I got here at 9 AM on a weekday. While the gates nearby are crowded, the restaurant here is not very busy. I sat down and noticed the order QR code on the table. But before I could aim my camera at the code, a nice server was here already. He took my order with a smile. Within minutes, my food and drink arrived. The food is fresh and warm, and the coffee was hot. So I enjoyed my breakfast and sat for a while, because there are never empty chairs near the gate in MSP.

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this restaurant. First, the server added a 20% tip to my bill without asking for my consent or giving me a chance to decide what I felt was appropriate. While I let that go, what happened next was completely unacceptable.
Partway through eating my meal—which cost $51 for a salmon dish and salad—I discovered a hair embedded in the food. It was not just any hair; it appeared to be coarse and resembled a beard or even a pubic hair. Needless to say, it was absolutely disgusting and completely ruined my appetite.

When I brought it to the waitress’s attention, she apologized and offered to either remake the dish or issue a refund. At that point, I was in shock and just wanted to get out of there. I couldn’t believe this had happened, and I was honestly too disturbed to even argue further.

This level of hygiene is unacceptable, especially for the price point. Staff should be required to wear proper hairnets—including for facial hair—when handling food. This was not just disappointing—it was revolting.

Please be warned: I would not recommend dining here. If you value cleanliness and basic respect for your dining experience, you may want to go elsewhere.

Volante was a bit of a letdown, especially for an airport restaurant where time and quality matter most. The food was noticeably greasy, and even the plate itself had an unappetizing slickness to it — not the clean, fresh meal you’d hope for while traveling.

Unfortunately, the service was also quite slow, which only adds to the stress when you’re trying to catch a flight. It’s not the ideal spot if you’re short on time or looking for a quick, satisfying bite before boarding.

With so many better options in MSP, I’d probably pass on Volante next time.

Ate at Volante while waiting for our flight to Spain. This restaurant is located in the MSP airport. It was on the expensive side but everything in the airport is expensive. We ordered and paid off the QR code so our server basically only brought out the food. Food was average, nothing to write home about. They did have outlets at every table which was a nice feature.

For an airport, this was actually really good. I enjoyed being able to order on my own using the QR code from my table period we had toasted ravioli, french fries and carrot cake, all of which were actually really quite good. It was very convenient being right next to the gate for our flight as well.

Amazing food and what a treat to be able to sit while you wait for your flight to board so you’re not sitting on the plan for 50 minutes.

Burger was great, the salad IS the up charge. Fries are amazing.

**UPDATE** I ATE HERE**
Food is decent, I had a plate of pasta and chicken w/bread and a glass of wine, but the food is NOT worth the 47$ + tip check I paid.

The wait staff are slow and terrible at providing service. I had a short layover in MSP and wanted a drink at my gate. When finally approached after being seated for roughly ten+ minutes my flight started boarding and was asked to leave.

Rude, impersonal bartender.
Probably because I only tipped 15% when I preordered my food and drinks online?? Extremely weird behavior.
I always carry cash and would’ve certainly left her more but the reason people tip 20% is for receiving good service. You can’t even smile? Girl, please. Never again.

Service was awful. One server was arguing with a table about the service. We waited over 20 minutes for a Bloody Mary and a glass of wine. The dining room was at 20% capacity so it wasn’t busy. The capper was we sat and watched our drinks sit at the corner of the bar while the bartender berated our “server” about not taking straws out of a box “it’s not my job, it’s your job”. Thankfully we had a while until our flight, however, we won’t be back.

I had truffle fries and fried ravioli. I thought both were really good! Beer was nice and cold. Asked for ranch dressing and ended up having to go to the bar as wait staff didn’t bring it and bar tender was great!
