Took a drive to Arcadia making a trip to K & J Homegrown Produce and the vintage & second-hand shops in the old downtown area of Arcadia.
After a day of lookie-looing through all the shops at everything under the sun from much further back than our childhood, we went to #SlimsBar-B-Q. Timed it right. We arrived after the lunch rush.
We ordered the Brunswick Stew, the smoked turkey sandwich plate, and the brisket sandwich plate, all were fabulous. The mac n’cheese side was delightful. We would be hard-pressed and stumped to say what was best. I do have a fixation in the smoked turkey – Thinly cut and piled on garlic toast, mmmm! But I do love fried pickles!!

We had a wonderful lunch with family today! The food here is Fabulous! Best known for their barbecue sauce! Turkey, pork and beef! Scott and I had the small beef plate with sides! Jimmy had chicken, Patsy had Brunswick stew both delicious!

I truly wish I could give this restaurant a higher rating because the food was amazing and our waitress was wonderful. Unfortunately, the situation that occurred completely overshadowed what could have been a great experience.
We were a group of eight adults with a small dog in a stroller. We understand that some establishments do not allow pets indoors, and we respect that. However, there is a respectful way to communicate policies to customers—and what happened was not it.
Another waitress, named Kelly, rushed into our seating area and loudly announced that another customer had complained about the dog. This was confusing, as the dog was not visible to anyone and there were only two other tables occupied besides ours. She then repeatedly shouted, “They have to go! They have to leave! You can’t have dogs here!” This was loud, embarrassing, and incredibly disrespectful.
Regardless of how good the food was, this incident left a very negative impression. We will not be returning unless this issue is addressed. Customer service matters just as much as food, and no one deserves to be treated this way.

Delicious food and amazing service. Went to this local BBQ with a group of 11 people from all over FL, and no one was disappointed! We had ribs, shrimps and brisket and it was all good. Our server, Libby was cheerful and attentive, as was the manager, Kelly. Both fun people doing a hard job! Would definitely come back here when back in Arcadia. Definitely recommend!

Amazing little restaurant that is creating barbecue way above its white class. I had a triple meat combo and chose fatty brisket, ribs, and chicken, baked beans and coleslaw. All of it was better than what you will find at any of those chain restaurant barbecue places. If you’re anywhere near this location And want to have meat cooked right with some exceptional side dishes make sure to check this place out.

Very displeased with my experience. My girlfriend and I both sick with food poisoning and the lack of empathy shown from the team and Kelly (manager) not reaching out to try and at least make us feel seen and heard. Not asking for compensation but a human that is concerned about the bad food that was served. Didn’t want to have to leave a review but after calling twice and having no response and being put off now for days is baffling. Be aware.

Wow! Great brisket! We were just driving through from Marco Island back to Clermont, FL and wanted to try something local. Not only was the food amazing, but the staff are so friendly and the place was very clean. We definitely recommend this little BBQ place! It also became very busy after we arrived so the locals love it too! We’ll be back on future trips to the west coast of Florida!

If you like BBQ and are in the area, Slim’s is a must! Great smoked meats. Had the turkey, brisket, and pork. All were spot on delicious. Baked beans and toast were even really good. It’s not somewhere you go for the atmosphere- but the good service and great food are more than enough to compensate for the simple seating/decor.
