We held our staff Christmas Party at Bootlegger’s this past week. Bud was excellent with our group of 12. We had two lanes of axe throwing, full dinners, drinks and just a fantastic experience. Every plate was hot & delicious, drinks great and really good fun had by all! Very grateful to Amanda who helped me make all the arrangements! Cheryl-Kitchen Tune-Up

Wow! What a crazy cool spot. We arrived really early on a Tuesday, before noon, and had the place almost to ourselves for lunch. We managed to bamboozle a tour of the speakeasy, and we’re so glad we did. Phenomenal selection of drinks, amazing atmosphere, cool venue right on the river, options to host private parties, and excellent cuisine. Can’t wait for my next trip back to Port Huron!

A Mixed Experience at Bootleggers Axe Throwing with a Surprising Twist

Venturing out with friends to Bootleggers Axe Throwing promised an exciting evening, and for the most part, it delivered. The pricing for axe throwing was indeed reasonable, and the availability of a variety of alcoholic beverages, both on tap and in bottles, added to the enjoyment.

While I cannot comment on the food, which appeared to be on the pricier side, I was disappointed to find that score sheets were unavailable during our visit. However, the staff improvised by providing blank paper, which was appreciated but not ideal.

One major downside was the limited space at the throwing lanes, which made it challenging to maneuver comfortably without feeling like you might hit the cage. Additionally, the condition of the boards left much to be desired, with noticeable damage, greatly affecting gameplay. You’ll notice In some of the pictures the board we were on had numerous major gouges.

Despite these drawbacks, the staff remained friendly and accommodating, though there was room for improvement in the frequency of visits from personnel taking food and drink orders.

One pleasant surprise was the opportunity to earn free playtime by hitting specific spots, although it’s crucial to ensure you receive credit, as photos are not accepted as proof.

However, the highlight of the evening was discovering the hidden door behind the weapons cage, leading to a speakeasy of sorts. This unexpected twist greatly enhanced the atmosphere and ambiance, complete with a piano player and seating area, adding an extra layer of excitement to the experience.

In conclusion, Bootleggers Axe Throwing offers a fun outing with friends, albeit with some room for improvement. Despite the challenges, the hidden speakeasy elevates the overall experience, making it a memorable evening out.

Dannie M. made our first dine-in experience here great! The elote dip was a delicious starter! The butter chicken dinner was amazing and a huge portion! The dry rubbed salmon filet was anything but dry. Delectable! Got a side of Mac and cheese and potato bravas to go with and was not disappointed! So full and plenty to take home! Thank you!

Salmon is so yummy. Never under or overdone in my opinion. So are all of the sides. I especially am a fan of the sweet potato fries. I really like the guy named Bud who gives me my food he is so awesome. Love this place. The axe throwing is cool too. Yay

We only did the axe throwing here so don’t know how the food was. It was a great experience had my our entire party though. I would highly recommend this place for a fun and different night out. One issue we had though was the boards they gave us to use were pretty beat up. They had what looked like new boards not even being used but I think they might have been used for something else. Other than that, I would definitely come here again.
