⭐ Fresh, Flavorful, and Worth the Wait!
I visited Fry Chi Restaurant this Saturday with a few friends, and we had a great experience. The restaurant is clean and welcoming, with seating for about 20 folks available, though it’s clearly set up perfectly for pickup orders, DoorDash, and Uber Eats, which is super convenient.
We ordered the chicken wings, swai fish, gizzards, red beans & rice, and mac and cheese, and everything was made fresh to order. It takes about 15 minutes, but it is absolutely worth the wait. The chicken had an amazing batter with great flavor and crunch, and the red beans and rice was especially comforting, full of flavor and made with beef sausage instead of pork, which I really appreciated. Perfect for warming you up during the winter season.
The prices are very reasonable, including a $9.99 lunch combo that comes with two sides and a fountain drink—great value. They also offer a few dessert items, chips, and three different flavored slushes that are cold, sweet, and refreshing.
Last but not least, the customer service was fantastic, friendly, welcoming, and attentive! Shoutout to Omar and his crew!

I ordered the 3 whole wing combo with fries and okra. My wife ordered chicken nuggets with French fries and green beans as her two sides. We were so excited to try a new restaurant in the wells branch area and after opening my box, I was so disappointed. The wings still had feathers and weren’t cleaned at all. I’m not sure if the fryer was just at an alarming high temperature but my wings, okra, and wife’s chicken nuggets all came out looking like they took two or three dips in the fryer. The color of the food was well past golden brown delicious, more like rock hard burnt fried greasy pieces. There’s no salt anywhere, It just tastes like they took the food out of freezer bags and threw them in the fryer. I tried calling, and no response. Such a disappointment to try a new neighborhood restaurant and It is NOT at all what we expected. Probably wont be back.

This is my 2nd visit to FryChi in the last week, and I really wish there was a location closer to my house in Round Rock, but I’ll gladly make the drive until that happens! The food is and made to order, so there’s gonna be a wait. But who minds a 10 minute wait to get fresh, hot and good quality food?! I know I don’t! My first visit I got 3 whole wings, fries and fried okra w/mild sauce on everything except the okra and it’s legit mild sauce just like you get in Chicago! Today I’m trying the catfish w/lemon pepper, mac and cheese and the fried okra. Y’all need to come and check them out ASAP!

The fish was fried hard (just how it should be), and the wings were crispy with a solid lemon pepper flavor. No grease overload, just good fried food done right.
The guys behind the counter were cool and laid-back, which added to the vibe. Food took about 15 minutes after ordering, and it was definitely worth the wait.
I’m already planning to go back for the Friday special. If you’re in the Wells Branch area and craving fried chicken or fish, check this place out.

Incredible lunch. I work nearby and stopped here to pick up lunch for me and my wife. We got the fish sandwich and the shrimp sandwich – both were 10/10 good. We’ll definitely be back to try more stuff.

Today I walked into an empty store and asked about my order (that I ordered prior)and they told me it’ll be ten minutes…THEN SAT BACK DOWN ON THEIR CELL PHONES WITHOUT STARTING MY ORDER. I once waited a hour for a chicken sandwich. Another instance. I ordered online, showed up 20 min later and the cook was outside.. had not even started my order. Great food. TERRIBLE customer service. One of the employees is great though.
I went back multiple times for the food. But the service and extra wait-time due to a certain two employees not caring and being lazy will be the reason I don’t go again.
THE OWNER RESPONDS BUT REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT HIS EMPLOYEEs WILL TAKE YOUR ORDER AND GET ON THEIR PHONES.. (even though I’m sitting right there and just asked about my order) like I said… good food.. terrible service.

I’ve gone there twice and enjoyed the catfish and shrimp, I also tried the gizzards. Everything was seasoned good and you get a good portion for the price which is reasonable. They have a lunch special from 11-2 M-F. I will be going back
