Overall everything was great. We went around 7-8pm, so there wasn’t a lot of ready deep fried and onigiri available. I’m sure they would have fried fresh if we asked. Still crispy even though we went late. Great variety of Ramen. We didn’t enjoy the unagi taco. The “shell” was too hard for us to bite through but the unagi itself was well seasoned and tender. Would come back. (Other items we ate were not photographed. )

I love the design of this place! You can order from the two kiosks available or directly at the counter from a person. I came here specifically for the hand-pulled noodles. I didn’t see anyone making them but the food was delicious, nevertheless! Everything came out pretty fast. We got a little bit of everything–Seafood Udon, Chicken Katsu Curry Don, Shrimp Tempura Sushi Taco, Salmon Omusubi, and Brown Sugar Boba. My mom makes her own udon, and while hers will always be my favorite, this place had good, springy noodles that soaked up the broth. We absolutely loved everything we got! So glad we stopped here while we were in Minnesota!

Excellent udon delicious broth and beef and Onsen egg was made perfectly. Love the “Tacos”. However the shrimp tempura was disappointed. It was very dense and hard. It felt like the batter water ratio was a bit off. The shrimp was rubber due to overcooking. I would come back for the udon but not the tempura.

Had the Curry Nikutama Udon. Great flavor on the sauce with a little kick of spice. Great chew on the udon. Nice tendor beef. Was a bit surprised by the cold raw egg so heads up on that. Decent takoyaki but definitely cold since it was sitting out.

This japanese Udon restaurant is so good. My wife and I live exactly 1 hour away from this location. Our drive was worth trying these noodles. We had two different bowls. Mine was a sweet beef curry udon and my wife’s was a savory curry udon with chicken cutles (chicken katsu). Anyone who wants to know this curry isn’t spicy. I’m sure it could be if you wanted it. The noodles felt and tasted fresh. I don’t know if they make them onsite, but I feel like dried and cooked noodles have a specific difference compared to fresh and boiled.
We were greeted upon entry and as we were leaving. That really reminded me of the japanese traditions.
We’ll be back.

Great food, cool vibe, and amazing customer service! I was going to get some udon, but ended up getting Chicken katsu curry rice bowl, dumplings, and brown sugar matcha boba. I’m definitely going back again to try their udon!

This is one of the few places in MN I enjoy dining in at every time we go because the atmosphere is so great! Everytime you enter/exit you’re greeted and and thanked! The food is great every time, the ingredients are always fresh, it’s almost like a quick visit to Japan for lunch.
I get excited yet indecisive everytime I go because the flavors are different than anything I’ve ever had. Each time is its own unique experience of exploring Japanese flavors, the perfect comfort food for the winter months in MN.
I really encourage you to give Maruichi Udon a try if you are interested or looking authentic Japanese flavors and vibes! The staff there is amazing and I love supporting them, I’ve never eaten this much udon in my life and I’ve already been 3 times in a week!
My great friend Lowfatpoundcake left a lengthy review referring to me as Dr. Jones and now the I am greeted at Mariuichi Udon as Dr. Jones, thanks to DJ Holtz for introducing us to amazing the Japanese cuisine I’ve been looking for since learning about Japan in high school! I look forward to more Udon!

The vibes of this place are A+! Immediately you’re greeted by the staff and they are so kind.
This was my first time trying Japanese curry but I really enjoyed the sweet and thickness of the sauce. I would consider sharing one plate because so much rice is given.
The decor and murals are divine and overall it’s a great place to try.
❌ my only negative is I really did not like that pickled red vegetable, it tasted like medicine

Food was so delicious and fresh!!! The owner and chef are Japanese and the staff are helpful and really seem to care. This restaurant is a brand new concept and it’s really something special. My husband and I got the spicy beef udon and the spicy beef kimchi. We also selected dumplings and a fried shrimp and a fried onion and pumpkin thing. Will for sure be back.

Soft and chewy udon but the broth wasn’t spicy enough in our opinion. The salmon onigiri was delicious. The shrimp tempura was a bit cold but the boba tea was also sweet and chewy.
The restaurant was spacious and clean when we visited, there is a kiosk to order but you can also order at the register. Also the make-line style is certainly efficient and I enjoyed watching my udon being made.
