This is my go-to spot! The food is always tender, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. They have weekly and daily specials, great soups, and some of the best veggie and beef patties I’ve ever had. The service is fast, the atmosphere is clean, and I love that they’re open 7 days a week. Truly an A+ experience every time!

Food is not authentic and smells off. Rice is white with very few peas. No seasoning on chicken, it looks pale and tastes bland. I asked for extra jerk sauce and they gave me a water like brown liquid with no consistency. Don’t waste your money. I’m convinced it’s wypipo in kitchen. Also ran out of champagne kola and asked if I wanted a hot one. I just got my money back. Got lunch special and they put it in the smallest container. Looks like they cut up 1 thigh to make it look like more but if you cook then you know it’s just 1 thigh. Don’t waste your money.

Best food in town!! Had a job out here, ran in got jerk chicken and rice. Had the champagne cola and it is all 10/10 made fresh, hot, served with a big smile! Great quality food, great service, amazing spot, decor, and clean!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Island World Jamaican Cuisine never disappoints! I’ve been here numerous times and the food is always amazing. I’ve tried the jerk chicken, curry chicken, and the goat, and everything is seasoned perfectly and full of authentic flavor. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming, and both the cook and the cashier are always friendly and professional. This is definitely one of my favorite spots—highly recommend!

This place is tucked away in a strip mall just past 83 and Algonquin. I happened upon this place as I was going to Sam’s one day. I was impressed by the flavors of the food. Great taste to it. I had the jerk chicken, jerk pork and the oxtails. The chicken, while it was tasty, it was dry. The oxtails? At $30 dollars, the value was not there. It’s almost like they took one oxtail and sliced it thin and called it a portion, I think yall can do better(see picture attached). Overall, my favorite dish was the pork and the beef patty. I will try this place again, just not for the oxtail. The place was nice, clean and bright on the interior.

Island World delivers a genuine taste of Jamaica with dishes that hit the right notes, though execution varies. The Jerk Chicken arrived smoky and spiced, with that signature allspice kick and a decent char—juicy inside, but the skin could’ve been crispier. Oxtail was fall-off-the-bone tender, swimming in a rich, peppery gravy that paired perfectly with rice and peas, though the portion felt a tad skimpy for the price. We loved the Plantain—sweet, caramelized edges with a soft center—and the Festival bread was a fluffy, slightly sweet highlight. The Patties (beef and chicken) were flaky and well-seasoned, but arrived lukewarm, which dulled the experience.
Service was friendly but scattered; our server forgot a side of callaloo and the rum punch took nearly 20 minutes. The vibe is casual and colorful—reggae on low, island murals on the walls—but the space felt cramped, and tables stayed uncleared longer than ideal. It’s a solid spot for authentic Jamaican comfort food if you’re nearby, especially for takeout. With tighter pacing and hotter plates, this could easily climb to four stars. Three stars—good, not great.

I was really looking forward to this place! The guy at the front desk was super helpful. The food was decent, I can see a lot of potential here. The steamed veggies could use a bit more flavor, and the rice was ok and jerk chicken wasn’t too bad. I think adding a nice thick jerk sauce on the side would really make it even better.
