Easily the slowest and least efficient Starbucks in Idaho Falls, and possibly in the United States. If you go here, only do the drive thru. Do not go inside unless you have 20-30 minutes to wait for a drink. Yesterday, there was one other person in the store, yet it took 25 minutes to get four drinks for my family. And, each drink came out individually with 3-4 minutes between each drink. By the time we got the final drink, the first drink was a bit cold. This is because the drive thru line was very long and they only had one person making drinks for both in store and drive thru line. Despite the fact there were three people working, only one person was making drinks. One was taking drive thru orders, and one was cleaning the pastry case even though his colleague was easily 20 drinks behind. I had to tell him she needed help.

If this was my first time having this experience at this store, I wouldn’t post about it, but in the 7 years I’ve been coming to Idaho Falls to visit family, I have this experience 90% of the time at this Starbucks. I went to the Starbucks on Anderson road today and the experience was night and day better – go there.

Advice: make this a drive thru only Starbucks and close the in store option. You aren’t staffed to run both at the same time.

*Just wanted to update. This location has definitely got a lot better. They sometimes still forget things, like today the pumpkin cream cold brew didn’t have the seasoning on top. But for the most part the wait times are better and they have the drinks down.

This particular location has a bit of work to do. The staff is definitely friendly and they do try hard. Drinks are usually made right but sometimes not. The biggest issue is wait times and lack of training for some staff. Sometimes I order a drink from the menu(like the shaken espresso for example) and they’re asking ME how to make it. Another time I did a mobile order and still waited 10 mins at the window for it because they couldn’t find it. So overall I think they do try hard but they’ve got some bugs to work out to make it more of a seamless process and faster times.

I had such an odd experience today at this Starbucks location on Sunnyside in Ammon, Idaho. I ordered multiple things that all totaled to be over $25. I went to pay with a $50 bill. They had waited about 5 minutes to even open the window to take my payment (I’m assuming getting my food and drinks finished) So then I try to pay and they take the $50 and then have me wait another 5 minutes while they figure out if they have change for a $50… they eventually say they don’t have change for a $50… even though I ordered $25 worth of stuff? They didn’t have $25 in change? I questioned if he was sure they didn’t have about $20 bucks in change and the guy with the fake makeup freckles just started at me like I was a complete idiot for trying to pay with a $50, then hands me back the money while talking to me in almost a baby voice to let me know again, they just can’t take a $50.
So had I paid with 2 20’s, would they have had the change? Even though that’s only $10 less than what I tried to give them. It was such a weird experience especially since my food and drinks were done and they wasted it all because an establishment that takes cash apparently doesn’t have $25 in change???? Won’t be coming back here to this location.

I ordered online thinking I’d not have to wait long, which was NOT the case. I had to go into the store instead of driving through, and then I had to wait even though lady at counter said mine was next. She made 3 more before mine. Polite sort of but slow service. Product was decent but price was more than I’d pay anywhere else and more than other Starbucks locations for same drink. Didn’t eat the food.

UPDATE!! I changed my stars from 2 to 5. It seems maybe someone listened to what I wrote below. Now everyone is super friendly and helpful. Thank you for listening to your customers!!

UNFORTUNATE MANAGEMENT. This is our local Starbucks and we do like to sit inside and enjoy a coffee. UNFORTUNATELY the management seems to direct the baristas to ignore the walk in business. Multiple times we have walked in to order a coffee and pastry and have been totally ignored, not even an acknowledgement that we’re standing there! Twice now we have just left because of this and we’ll most likely not return. Sad because we like the atmosphere but it doesn’t help if we can’t get a coffee!

I love this Starbucks! Everyone is super friendly and the coffee is always yummy! Please educate all your employees on the correct way to hand out a stopper. They should never touch the end that actually goes in the coffee, especially after they have been handling money.

My Starbucks family are such a ray of light during the pandemic.
Always greeted with kind words, cheerfully attitudes and most often by name. Of course the BEST coffee!!! My pop, Ceda, always gets her Pupichino!!!!!

I just went through the drive thru and the person on headset was extremely fun and personable and brightened my morning! Then I got to the window and the person who greeted me, Lexi, was just as fun and kind! They were super quick and accurate and everything was delicious. I work in food service so I know how hard it is to keep a positive attitude sometimes, and I just want them to know how much I appreciated that

Great location. Fun staff. This is one of the better Starbuck locations. Also a shout out for letting gardeners come in and get the used coffee grinds for their soil. Love that!
