Awesome food!! Been going their for many years and keep going back when i want Chinese take out. The Staff are the original owners and they are very friendly plus the service is very quick!! Best Chinese take out in Morganton no doubt. I’ve ate alot of Chinese food in different areas this is my go to when I’m in the area. I wish them many many more years in business to come!!

The lady was very rude when I called in an order for pick up. She would rush me as I’m just trying to tell her what I wanted to order. I ordered at 5:30pm and came in at 6:00pm and still my order was not ready when I called in. Now it has been an extra 30 minutes and still nothing. I’m sure they were busy however, I ordered more than an hour earlier and called in. The lady up front was still so rude to me as I asked when my food would be ready.

Never been here, but I ordered sweet and sour shrimp along with two shrimp egg rolls and a soda. The darn egg rolls were magnificent and the size of the shrimp were incredible and delectable. Rice had no vegetables but I’m not complaining it was delicious regardless. It didn’t take too long to get considering I was there ordering it and walking out in the span of 15 minutes. It doesn’t appear anything was twice fried so I’m not complaining once again it was absolutely phenomenal the whole experience and how quick it was so I’m happy… I will return!!!

So I was wanting something to eat when I got off at 9pm tonight and I saw this place was open till 10:30pm. I placed my order at 8:45pm so it would be ready by time I get off work. It’s only 8 minutes past 9 and I start getting a phone call. I answer and the lady just says “you coming or not?” I placed my order not even 25 minutes ago and I’m only 3 minutes away getting this call and when I stated yes I was almost there I was just hung up on. When I pull up I don’t know if this is just Morganton or the area but it smelled god awful outside (I’m pregnant so could just be the pregnancy nose) I go inside and they don’t even accept debit!!!! Wasn’t warned when I called to place the order, wasn’t told when they called me to say are you coming or not and there was 0 signs on the door stating they don’t take debit cards or anything online that I saw stating that either! I’ve worked 9 hours today I’m 8 months pregnant and did not care to find a damn ATM to go and get money out for this order where she was already rude to begin with! Won’t be back.

Ordered general sto’s chicken with fried rice and Mongolian chicken and fried rice 4 eggrolls and crab Rangoon .
Received, what seemed to be microwaved chicken and soup for sauce, the egg rolls were cabbage rolls and the cream cheese filled deepfriend bread was supposed to be crab Rangoon, the rice was not fried rice it was just yellow rice plain. lol, I’ll make the trip to hickory instead and save my 46 dollars for punctual delivery of product.

My wife an I get take out from Great China enough that I felt like I needed to review it. If you’re looking for a new place to try in Morganton to eat, this is it. They advertise Mandarin, Szechuan, Hunan and Cantonese. The Egg Drop Soup, Singapore Mayfun, Chicken On A Stick, Wontons and Eggrolls are must-haves. Also, my wife really enjoys their vegetable lo mein. We’ve independently heard from a couple people that their fried chicken is really good. We’re going to start trying different things on their menu because our “normals” are consistently great. I don’t really know what to say about the atmosphere. In my opinion, it’s not really an eat-in place even though, you could. They have a few decorations up and eating-in isn’t discouraged by any means. Thanks so much Great China staff for your wonderful meals!

The 1 star reviews on here don’t seem to understand what kind of place this is. It’s a “hole in the wall” Chinese takeout place. And one of the very best I’ve ever had. General tso chicken, egg rolls, chicken wings, and lo mein are all delicious and a great value. I don’t recommend dining inside. It’s never been remodeled or repaired. But the food is delicious and affordable, and portions are great. What more could you possibly want from Chinese takeout? Oh, and I’m not saying it’s impossible, but in all the years I’ve been going here, I’ve never once been given an incorrect order. Keep it simple, state what you want, hand over the money. (Cash only.) Enjoy your food. This isn’t Applebees.
