disappointing experience. We ordered the hotpot and it was completely tasteless — no seasoning, very bland, and swimming in oil/butter. I could barely eat about 10% of it before giving up. My friends ordered the same dish and had the exact same issue; everyone struggled to finish their food.
Service was also painfully slow. A bottled beer took around 20 minutes to arrive, which was frustrating. Even getting the bill took forever, despite asking multiple times.
Overall, poor food quality combined with slow service made this a very underwhelming visit. Wouldn’t recommend.

We dined at Wazen Japanese Restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The food was fantastic and very well prepared and the service was very friendly and courteous. They have a great selection of dishes on the menu and a great kids menu too. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Thank you Wazen for a great evening.

Went to Wazen on a Wednesday night with friends for dinner. 3 people ordered the special sizzling prawns hotpot, and it wasn’t edible for anyone. Basically just put into a bowl of oil. No seasoning. Just tasted greasy and horrible. Friends that ordered it had to go to McDonalds afterwords for some food. Service was pretty poor too. Took 20 minutes to get a beer after ordering. Had to get the water ourselves. When it came time for the bill, no one was to be found…had to drag someone out of the kitchen to ask for the bill. 20 minutes later, they still hadn’t itemized the bill. Had to ask another server for the bill again. I don’t think we’ll be back, that’s for sure.

A hidden gem in the middle of the forest. I know Gold Coast overall has really nice Japanese food and this place is definitely beyond my expectations.
All ingredients used for our food were fresh which makes the taste pops.
Price is reasonable and would recon to try the kids Sushi if you dine in with children.
