My husband and I stopped in for dinner not quite knowing what to expect, as the restaurant has changed hands a couple of times over the last few years. We were truly impressed from start to finish.
The space feels beautifully refreshed, warm, and inviting, and the staff set the tone right away. The hostess was incredibly kind and welcoming, and we were even offered a complimentary glass of Prosecco as we got settled.
The service throughout the evening was thoughtful and elevated. We were given a brief presentation of the evening’s soup, a palate-waking bite, fresh popovers with specialty butter, perfectly paced entrées, and a shared crème brûlée for dessert. The atmosphere carries a wooded steakhouse feel with soft jazz playing in the background, relaxed yet refined.
Our waitress was truly wonderful, bubbly, attentive, and completely on point all night. She kept our drinks refreshed, mixed our cocktails herself, and made the entire experience feel seamless and welcoming.
The food was excellent, but what really stood out was the overall experience. It felt like fine dining in both service and ambiance, yet still approachable and comfortable.
We manage a local resort here in Park Rapids and will absolutely be recommending this restaurant to our guests. We are already looking forward to coming back ourselves.

While much of the supper menu leans toward multi-course, higher-end plates, there is a small, affordable handheld section — a great option if you want something simpler and budget-friendly. Portions are generous (my husband and I could’ve shared the burger and fries we had tonight), and they offer excellent takeout. The service is outstanding, and the atmosphere has a nostalgic Val Chatelle ski-lodge vibe that makes the whole place feel warm and special. Everything together makes for an outstanding experience. We just arrived home after enjoying a fabulous Valentine’s dinner. Me and the wife spent most of the 45 minute drive home taking about how amazing everything is.
The barometer I use is “could I make this at home and it be as good as it was at the restaurant”. The answer was no. Except for one or two things we had in our six course meal, I could not duplicate anything that we had. Everything was fabulous. The entire meal was divine.
We have both decided that this will be our annual Valentine’s dinner spot and we can’t wait to return to try out their regular dinner menu and check out their breakfast as well.
I HIGHLY recommend trying this place out. It is definitely in our top 5 places we’ve ever dined.

It was such a cozy & professional experience. We walked in and they took our coats. We were then seated right by a wood stove. The menu was so inviting. We loved the tuna, Brussels, and queso with homemade tortillas appetizers. I personally had the walleye and it was so good!! We ended with all the desserts. The crowd fave was the angel cake with the homemade ice cream! It was an experience I have told many about!

My two oldest sons and I were driving through after an all day wrestling meet. We searched best restaurants in Park Rapids. That led us to The Clubhouse Restaurant. We didn’t have a reservation, but the hostess and staff were so accommodating getting us a table. We did not feel inconvenienced but rather warmly welcomed and served. Our waitress was wonderful. Food was amazing. Can’t wait to come back with the rest of the family next time.

I am posting this on behalf of my parents. Last night I heard that they chose your restaurant for their 51st anniversary and evidently they waited for over an hour after the waitress/hostess forgot about their table. Not trying to post a bad review, but this rubbed me the wrong way. Please try to be aware of your customers so this doesn’t happen again. We really loved everything about The Clubhouse – nice addition to Park Rapids – lots of class and ambience! The Wedge Salad with Ranch Dressing was amazing – enough for two+ people! Hubby had Rib Eye Steak – he is picky about his steak – he loved it! The Crème Brûlée he order for dessert was delicious. Nothing but praises here – will frequent again!!
