I would give them no stars I could, my cousin ordered sancocho via door dash and instead of calling to let her know they didn’t have it they sent chicken soup, when she called and to let them know. The woman’s response was that’s the only soup I have. So my cousin requested a refund because that’s not what she ordered. The woman response was are you going to bring my back the soup so I give you a refund ? She said sure she drove there to find out they closed early due to the snow storm. Terrible customer service, you would think they would try to recover their mistake. Will not be ordering from here , see pictures attached of the so called sancocho.

While I was visiting Newburgh, I decided to give Nelly’s a try because I absolutely love Dominican food. It did not disappoint!!! I had white rice, stewed beans, baked chicken, sweet plantains, and lime with a Tamarind Jarritos to drink. OMG! The flavors were great! Not to mention the ladies behind the counter were very friendly and the sit down area to eat was beautiful, clean, great ambiance with Spanish bachata music playing in the background! I would definitely visit this restaurant again if I am in Newburgh! Buen Provecho!!!

Wow!!! Amazing food. Meat flavorful & tender. Best potatoes we have ever had. Dont even get me started on how goo the rice & beans are. Large portions for a good price, we’ll have leftovers for days! Staff was extremely attentive, friendly, & helpful- especially with us asking a million questions. Atmosphere is cute & cozy. Will come back next time we’re in the area!

I was incredibly dissatisfied with my order. It was my first time trying food from this establishment. I ordered a sandwich and was charged for it, but when I called to ask about the missing item, the store representative tried to tell me that I never ordered it. She then proceeded to argue with me over the phone instead of trying to resolve the issue. After standing my ground and finally hanging up, they eventually refunded my money. Completely unprofessional behavior and zero accountability. DO NOT ORDER from this place.

Visited Nelly Latin Restaurant At Newburgh today, and I must say that I walked out very impressed with the food and service!
At Nelly’s they specialize in Dominican food and desserts. They have affordable prices and the place has a great atmosphere. You can order online through Grubhub, takeout, or dine in.
Don’t forget to ask for their natural juices (since these are not visible in the self serve fridge) made from tamarindo (tamarind) and chinola/maracuya (passion fruit).
Lastly, don’t forget to add a flan or tres leches to your order. I promise, you won’t be disappointed!
I am happy to have found the perfect Dominican spot near me. I’ll be visiting again soon and I think you should too!

This was our first time at this site in Newburgh. The ladies were super sweet and helpful. The food, on the other hand was not as good. In their defense, we arrived close to closing and they had already begun mopping. I would give another just to be sure it wasn’t because they were closing soon.

Ordered from Uber Eats for the 1st & last time. The meat was dry, chewy & overcooked. It was supposed to be meal for 4 people but the portions are too small. The “beans” were mostly gravy and the tostones were also dry with no flavor. I will not order from here again.

Honestly I love the food of my people no doubt about that but for a plate 20$ for arroz con gandules an oxtail that makes sense but for it to be so bad so dry that couldn’t even finish it an to top it off the girl working seemed upset when I asked her how much each plate was smh I’ll pray for ya God Bless but never again
