Joe’s is still a great place (I was first there over three years ago), good food, friendly service and lots of yummy treats.
Today’s delicious chicken gumbo came with a muffin (pumpkin, I believe). Both were amazing, as was the apple pie with their rustic crust. I took home one of their fresh-made oatmeal cookies, and it was chewy and delightful.
I’m always happy when I have been to Joe’s, go there and you will be too!
His quality is very consistent, I first had the braunschweiger sandwich probably 8 years ago, and it was as perfect as I remembered. Some people fear this “sausage“ because they’ve only had it from grocery stores where it is thick and gooey and gross, but this braunshweiger is none of that, and is really everything you would want it to be. The rye bread was hand sliced thick, there was Swiss cheese and stone ground mustard, red onions, and…..it was just fantastic.
Today I also got a mini pumpkin cheesecake, mini gooey butter cake and little peach pie. All of them were outstanding, even more than I can describe.
They have many more baked goods and all kinds of delicious sandwiches and soups (I’m assuming they’re delicious too, since I’ve not actually had a soup, though).
The place was clean and bright, including the bathroom, which is always a plus!
Do yourself a favor and stop by. Even if you’re just traveling down Highway 44, make a detour, you’ll be happy you did.
Everyone enjoyed them & ate all but about 4 (I had to save some for myself to eat later).
Thank you!!
**in the image the cheesecakes & pies are what he made, we got about 50 of them!
All home made desserts that are absolutely incredible.
I had a turkey club; the turkey meat isn’t typical processed delicatessen meat, it’s while roasted turkey breast cooked in store. I added the house spicy sauce and made it one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had (second only to my favorite spot in philadelphia)
Ate here for lunch. Had the artichoke wrap and a bottle of SunDrop. It was excellent.
