This is probably going to be one of my reoccurring favorite lunch spots!

Everything was perfect, even parking wasn’t a challenge!

The atmosphere was calm like a coffee shop, the music wasn’t too loud. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

My husband and I ordered the egg and scallion fried rice, Kung Pao Chicken, pork soup dumplings, Mongolian beef with scallions, BBQ Bao Buns, a hot yuzu citrus tea, and a passion fruit green tea

All teas and drinks are made to order. I was able to customize my tea which I loved. I’m a Type I diabetic so when I go to restaurants I usually can only order a Diet Coke or water. I ordered this tea without sugar and added stevia.

All of the food was delicious, fresh, and not too greasy!

Disappointing Experience at This Peter Chang Location

I’ve enjoyed dining at various Peter Chang locations before, so I was quite excited to try this one. Unfortunately, this visit turned out to be a significant letdown.

Upon entering, the atmosphere felt more like a food court in a grocery store than a restaurant. When I approached the counter to inquire about seating, the cashier responded rather condescendingly, saying, “You pick up the menu, read the menu, come back here, order the food, and pay for the food.” His lack of courtesy was surprising and unprofessional, especially he was just a cashier and he was treating a new customer this way.

The food selection was diverse, which initially seemed promising. I ordered the Peking duck (half), bubble pancake, and pork soup dumplings. The Peking duck was decent but felt overpriced for the portion size. The bubble pancake was visually interesting, but unfortunately, the taste was underwhelming and excessively oily, not resembling the typical Chinese pancake I expected. The pork soup dumplings were satisfactory, but again, the portion size didn’t justify the price.

It’s worth noting that utensils and water are self-service, which further detracted from the dining experience. Overall, I wouldn’t return to this location, especially considering there are other nearby options like Red Pepper or Tea Horse that offer a far better experience for a similar price.

Ma Po tofu was so good. (Gluten free and vegan, GF/VG) Kind of pricey but very nice. Do have to buy rice separately. Gluten free and vegan (gf/vg). Friends got bao and orange chicken. Latte took some time.

Very modern cutesy, clean, and spacious. Food made to order which is always nice. Portions lack.

My review might be different if I went for lunch instead of dinner, as it was relatively empty and some things interesting characters came in and wandered the restaurant while we were eating.

First, and most importantly, the food was incredible. We ordered a bunch of dim sum, and a scallion and egg fried rice. Overall, we ordered the pork soup dumplings, shrimp shumai, crystal shrimp dumplings, beef pastry, gluttonous, rice, Chinese burger and the scallion and egg fried rice.

The food was delicious, especially the shrimp shumai, the beef pastry, and the fried rice.

The staff was friendly, but unattentive unless prompted by me, but it could’ve just been an awful night.

Will definitely be back for the food, but likely for takeout

Peter Chang resturant delivers exceptional value with its all-you-can-eat menu, offering generous portions that never compromise on quality. Each dish arrives fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, from savory stir-fries to perfectly seasoned noodles and crispy appetizers. Unlike many buffet-style options, the portions are substantial and made to order, ensuring both freshness and satisfaction. The attentive service and consistent taste make it an outstanding choice for anyone seeking variety, quality, and abundance in one dining experience.

This time I tried their roast duck with rice. OMG it’s the best roast duck, here in Baltimore. Better than at the Asian grocery store in Catonsville. There’s a reason why Chef Peter Chang won a James Beard award. Chef Chang has nailed down his techniques with the roasting duck process. This isn’t an easy process for an amazing roast duck. Chang’s roast duck is juicy, tender with that crisp duck skin.

The portion was very good for the price (literally two meals out of this dish). I’ll do a splurge for the Peking duck. I’m sure this will be just as good if not better.

Also recommend the following dishes that I’ve had in the past:

Shrimp with walnut
Stir fry dry beef wide noodles

Overall, the food here is very good and pretty authentic too. Something hard to find in Baltimore, authentic Chinese food.

The beef and broccoli was delicious! My only complaint was that you have to pay extra for steamed rice. It definitely should come included in the meal, especially for the price ($20+ tax).

While staying the evening in Baltimore I came here because I was in the mood for some authentic Szechuan food and I’m very familiar with Chef Peter Changs and his restaurants.

The concept at this location is fast casual – You walk in, place your order at the counter, they give you a number and you sit down and they’ll bring your food to the table. The young girl taking orders was very friendly, helpful, and nice to talk to. Their menu is slightly different than Mama Changs or the Peter Changs full-service menu I’m used to. But I found some items that really appealed to me, including one of my favs, which is their Bamboo Fish.

I also tried their sizzling mixed pepper chicken. Both dishes were tasty and perfectly prepared! Nice spice to both as well.

The venue is small, but has plenty of tables… on the weeknight I went, they were pretty busy the entire time and most tables occupied. But that girl working the counter did a great job clearing tables and talking to customers in between taking orders.

Highly recommend stopping in, especially if you like authentic Chinese eats!

I’ve visited this small restaurant several times. Overall, the food tends to be quite oily and salty. For example, the fried rice and fried noodles we ordered for takeout were drenched in oil and soaked in soy sauce. The Sichuan boiled fish, which I actually like because it’s numbing and spicy, was also very oily and salty. Even dishes like the mushroom with bok choy, which should be light and refreshing, were overly greasy and salty. The pan-fried dumplings we had for dine-in were disappointing, with several of them having broken skins. However, the bubble tea was quite good, and I enjoyed it.

There’s no parking available here, so we always end up parking in a paid parking garage about two blocks away.

As for the service, it doesn’t even meet the basic standards. On the plus side, the décor is modern, clean, bright, and tidy, making the space feel comfortable.
