We tried this restaurant after seeing many posts about authentic Italian food. While the atmosphere was enjoyable, with a DJ playing oldies music that created a nice vibe, the food unfortunately didn’t live up to expectations. The dishes were quite mediocre and didn’t feel particularly authentic. We were also surprised to be charged extra for parmesan at the table and overall the pricing felt high for the value offered. Service was fine, but the food and value didn’t justify the cost for us.

It is difficult to rate Twenty-Two Eatery as we have had great meals there (originally) and some very mediocre meals. Consistency is lacking. We order the same pizza every time and the taste and coverage of the pizza differs tremendously. We hadn’t been there for a while and not since they moved. We thought we would give them one more try. Last night’s was poor. We got the wrong pizza (a poorly made margurieta instead of a Quattro Stagioni) and coverage was scant and the tomato base was bland. I am afraid to say that was our past time there.

Yesterday we ordered two take away Pizzas … what a disappointment! The most miserable excuses for Pizza I’ve ever seen … Their Quattro Stagioni had no visible ham nor artichoke as advertised… delivered cold and rubbery. Another display of retail rip offs.. Never again!!

We were out with friends for dinner last night and wow, what a night! L had the Wagyu, A had the brisket, my husband had the short rib, and I had the sole. Each dish was a standout—we were so impressed that we could have licked the plates clean!
No pictures this time as we dug right in, after a great rugby match and plenty of celebrations, but trust me, the food was exceptional.

Very disappointed in the pizza. Ordered Bacon & Feta, without the avo. The toppings are so little and I feel this is not value for money. Paid R165, excluding tip, for this pizza and feel ripped off actually. But I have to give credit, as the pizza was delicious.
