Visited Thuận Kiều Cơm Tấm while in Houston. The atmosphere was casual but chaotic — it looked busy, though it felt more disorganized than lively. The service was just okay, and unfortunately cleanliness seemed to be lacking, which was a definite turnoff for me.
I ordered the cơm tấm with pork chop and shrimp — the portion was generous, but while others at the table were content, it didn’t really hit for me. The shrimp, in particular, should have been deveined for better taste, texture, and presentation, and they were not, which took away from the overall dish.
Overall, a one-and-done experience for me. Saluti

I really appreciate they bringing lots of veggies.
– Bún bò huế was good. Better than I expected since it is a cơm restaurant. They give so much meat I can’t finish it, too full. 4.5 ⭐️
– for the rice, pork chop is slightly on the dry side. However overall it was good. 4 ⭐️
– phở as expected for the cơm restaurant, the broth wasn’t great. So phở is 2 ⭐️
I would definitely come back for the and try their cơm phần aka family sharing dishes.

WHITE FUZZY MOLD on veggie. Brought it to attention to one of the staff, the lady at the counter argued it was “just onion” while picking it off of the veggie to show it to me. It has a white fuzz, so most definitely a sign of some sort of mold growth. They then charged full price for said dish. I kindly asked them to take some amount off the bill(because I did eat the some noodles and meat on the left side of the plate and I would pay for that) even though other restaurants would just take it off a bill completely should a big issue like this happen. Took them a bit to come to a conclusion to take off $4.50 after they said they’d take $5 off. I decided to let it go as I was in a hurry to go somewhere else and just paid for whatever amount they decided on, while still gave them 20% tip to not penalize the server for it.
At this point, I don’t think they realize mold could be harmful or they simply chose profit margin over health and cleanliness.
Regardless, I will not come back to this restaurant.

Absolutely Delicious! Got the combo for 2 and it can feed 3 people for $36, and even with the exchange rate it’s a bargain. Looking forward to trying the rice dishes next time!

Originally I thought negative of the place because when we arrived, we were told there was a new owner and that they no longer sold banh beo. I ordered the 4 Family Combo deal for around $70. The food was great and came very fast. As we came around 11am there wasn’t a lot of people, but it got crowded pretty fast after we were seated. The waiters were very nice and the atmosphere was great.

I tried to like this place because their service is good but I wouldn’t come back. Nem nuong is delish. Grilled pork flavor is weird. Pho has a generous amount of beef. The broken rice dish is not as good as the surrounding restaurants.

The two people portion is still a lot for two. Definitely worth the price. The rice dish is very good too. Service is quick.

First of, the photos on the wall and the lamps, decor give a very Vietnamese cozy aesthetic. Food was very good. Is it the best Vietnamese food ever? No. But it did hit the spot. Drinks like Thai Tea- not so much. I did order canh chua which is a very homey dish and they did well.
What I don’t like is they don’t Devine the shrimp! Don’t rush this step it’s important to take the poop sack out! For a high end feel to this restaurant I would like to see them try harder to not take the quick way out.

It is authentic Vietnamese food. It is fresh, bursting with color and flavor. The tofu was perfectly cooked. Beautiful toasted brown on the outside and soft on the inside. It is a busy place, and it is filled with local residents. It is filled with laughter and noise. Family oriented. I had the flamed tofu and my hubby had the flamed beef. It came with a monster size bowl of rice! The beef was deliciously seasoned. The food was presented nicely. I highly recommend. The only issue we found was there is a bit of a wait because it is busy, but it is worth it. The food was cheap. It is a hole in the wall that is worth a few visits.
