First time eating here and probably close to 10 years. 10 years ago this was a fabulous restaurant. Today it is was still good.
The good: They’re miso soup is fire. My daughter had a bento and I had a three maki lunch and I tasted everything and everything was acceptable to good. The Tempura is definitely the standout along with the soup.
The Bad: The staff were pleasant but certainly not what I would call quick or overly courteous. They responded to special requests without the usual eye rolls you get from people under 30 these days, so that’s a plus. The main issue what is the ambiance. As you can see from the photos the sushi bar was covered in takeout containers and various accoutrements. This was 1:00 in the afternoon. It’s really too bad too because I’ve been eating sushi here since they opened. I’ve always really liked the way they did the woodwork in the sushi bar it’s simple and elegant and just a very welcoming environment and it’s sad to see that they don’t take more pride in it.

Good ambiance and welcoming environment. Food was good. The liked the crunch of shrimp in Red Osaka Roll! The sauces were just right but you can ask for hot sauce if needed. The chicken and beef are not #Halal so the best options are seafood, veggies, and Tofu.

I have always enjoyed going to Osaka in Moline until my visit January 25th, 2026. The food tasted fine, however the hibachi chef CJ gave very disproportionate portions to each person at the table. I ordered a chicken hibachi and got half the chicken that everyone else at the table received. I even checked to make sure no one else ordered double and it was confirmed by my server that no one had. CJ served one guy who I found out was one of his friends double the rice and steak of everyone else at the table. On Sunday you must order a dinner portion and I was served the size of a lunch portion and was forced to pay double the price. Our server Caylie noticed the discrepancies in portion and tried to alert management. Management did nothing, in fact a different server came over and was very condescending and said to me “So were you not served enough food”, I told her I was but the different sizes in portions was ridiculous. The manager was not alerted and this other server stood at the register with manager almost to intimidate me to not say anything. I won’t be returning.

Definitely worth every penny! My husband and I absolutely love this place! If you want sushi, here is where you get the best bang for your buck! Just make sure you look the menu over. Plus, it’s so delicious and they are very kind! They also do pick up orders!

I used to eat lunch there once every two weeks for a very long time when I worked at a nearby office building. Recently my spouse and I ate at the sushi bar, it’s dated in decor and dim in lighting, but a good enough place to enjoy the great sushi rolls they offer. Even more recently, the soup was off and the sushi was off at my visit in April 2025. It was the worst meal I’ve ever had at this place. In March 2025 I had just gotten soup and rolls that were the best I’ve ever had from here. I can’t explain that.
