we ordered a allo tikki chaat and we asked them to put some extra yogurt in it but as always they didn’t usually I ordered it from them and I always tell them to put some extra yogurt but it was 4 time and they were still same (IGNORANT)

Don’t get me wrong, the food has been delicious the two times I’ve had it. The first time I ordered from Grubhub and the food made it to me piping hot and it was some of the best Indian food I’ve had. The second time, tonight, has been a slight disappointment due to service.
I was returning from out of town and called in my order at 6:40 pm, and I asked for it to be ready at 8:15 pm. At 7:50-ish I got a call from the restaurant telling me my food was ready. I informed them I asked for it to be ready at 8:15 pm and I didn’t really get a reply about it. I asked if my food had been sitting and waiting for me (normally a restaurant doesn’t call unless they wonder where you are after an order) and I was told no.
I arrived at the restaurant and paid by 8:14 pm and while I was walking out, I felt the containers and the food was lukewarm at best. I’ve since made it home and my pure excitement for this food is tarnished. It’s still delicious in flavor, but it’s not the hot meal I intended to have. I worked in food service for 5 years and I wouldn’t serve a customer food that was sitting on the counter for 20 minutes, especially when they gave me a specific time.
Spending $23 for an entree and 2 naan in this economy makes me want a hot meal, not lukewarm.
I give the food a solid 5 stars, but this experience has me considering what other Indian restaurants are in the area. Hopefully I can be more specific the next time I call in an order?

This place is amazing, my go-to for Indian food and treats. The lunch buffet is pretty much weekly therapy, and if you order something off the menu, the portions are always big enough that I have leftovers. I’ve done both MANY times with many different dishes. The flavor is amazing (and consistent), the quality is fresh regardless of whether it’s a vegetarian or meat based dish, and they pay attention to the little things like for to-go orders they wrap the food containers in extra layers to avoid messes or spills during delivery. They care about their food and your experience with it! No matter what I try on the menu when I order from any Indian restaurant, my favorite always ends up being this place. I’ve tried multiple things from every Indian restaurant in Merced. And now this is the only place I go. Plus, everyone there is super nice and makes it a great experience whether I order delivery or show up at the restaurant. 11/10, would recommend every time!

Okay is it a hole in the wall kind of place? Absolutely, but those are the best! I will have to say food and flavor wise this is the best Indian food in Merced! Will definitely be coming back and the price is not to be beat $11.99 for a buffet. That’s amazing! Everything was delicious hot and the service was excellent! Thank you, Royal Indian!

They serve ‘halal’ foods, that’s why we went there to taste the foods. And it was very tasty. I have one confusion, their halal certification shows the chickens are halal, but they provided us goat meats as well – mentioning that was halal too. I hope they will clarify this. I would love to go to their restaurant more and more to enjoy tasty halal menu.

I usually order pick up or Delivery through Door dash. The food is always so delicious. Chicken Tika the best. I ordered a combo meal for Delivery on door dash, but did not receive my free drink… No big deal bc the combo and food was so worth it. Next time I ordered for pick up. When I got there they had remembered they forgot my drink and had a hand written note apologizing. So nice, best customer service!!!

First time having authentic Indian Food and I was immediately greeted and welcomed. I had the lunch buffet and its such a steal for the price honestly. $12 for all you can eat Indian food. Food was hot and ready to eat. You can immediately get your plate and sit down and eat then get up for seconds. They give you free naan bread which I got the garlic naan bread, pretty delicious. I loved their Butter chicken very flavorful and juicy and creamy. Chicken curry was also great and so was the Channa masala, lots of flavor!. I liked the unique flavor the Tandoori chicken has, can’t quite describe it but it’s really good!!! The mango Lassi is exactly the way I remember it back when I worked at Stanford Dining, very delicious drink. This was a great experience and just such a good option if you want to get full with lots of delicious food for only $12!!!. I recommend trying it out

We dinned in for lunch in this restaurant. We ordered to go foods as well. But somehow they totally messed up our to go order. We ordered Goat biriyani but instead we got chicken biriyani. We even ordered extra rice and never got any of those. So definitely make sure your order is correct before leaving the store.
We got dosa for lunch and it was really delicious. Definitely try it! We also got regular rotis with mixed vegetables. Their vegetables recipes are very very tasty. Even their regular rice was also top quality and tasted really good. We also got naans and those were delicious as well. Overall great dine in experience but not so good take out

Today I contacted this restaurant all the way from India to place an order for my friend in Atwater, USA. A person named Jot answered my call, and when I told her that I wanted to surprise my friend on his birthday, as he might visit to buy Kolkata Dum Biryani, she immediately understood my request and even spoke to the owner about how I could make the payment.
She was so friendly, cheerful, and kind throughout the conversation. What touched me the most was that, even after I insisted on paying, they refused to take the payment and instead gifted the food parcel to my friend on my behalf!
Such genuinely good-hearted people and wonderful service are so rare to find. I’ve never visited this restaurant personally, but I’ve heard from my friend that their Indian dishes are absolutely delicious.
Thank you so much for your kindness and thoughtful gesture…it truly made our day!
