Food tastes good but was disgusted by my drink when it thawed. It was white stuff n slimy stuff floating. I wiped around my cup to clean it. Don’t know how often machine is cleaned.

Soooo we decided to go on a week day at around 12 pm. When I walked in, no one was in there, which is fine. The lady at the front took my order but it was her first time, so she didn’t really know what to do. (Which is fine considering the place is new)
I ordered the curry lunch bowl and a Veggie patty. The patty was SUPER dry and the chicken curry smelled and tasted burnt. The owner and lady at the front desk were very nice to us and offered a refund on our food. We declined the refund my cousin tried the jerl chicken. She said that it taste better so that’s a plus.
We also ordered daiquiri which tasted like they were virgin.
The place isn’t horrific, and I’d go back to try it again. But I don’t think much can change.

A nice little jamaican spot with fresh made daiquiris. My mother got the curry chicken and cabbage and said it was well seasoned and the meat tender. I got a veggie patty, rice and beans and coco bread. The bread was a little on the dry side alongside the rice. I recommend ordering the cabbage (which was delicious) and use the juice for anything that requires more moisture. The place was clean, the staff welcoming and had on some great island music. Worth a visit

Very delightful staff and chef. They even celebrated my birthday with me with one of my favorite desserts of all time! Truly appreciate you. Definitely will continue to dine here and wish the restaurant further success.

Foodie always good; however, when went to dine in at 5pm, and placed our order, the waitress naked if we are dining in or taking it to go. We said dining in; she then stated we could not dine in because they close at 5pm. Their hours stay they are open until 7pm. I guess there were ready to go home

I’ve been looking for good Jamaican food and tried a couple of restaurants in Richmond and Chesterfield. Can’t believe I found the best Jamaican food in Colonial Heights of all places! So far I’ve only had the oxtail dinner with rice and beans, and cabbage. Oh my goodness! The oxtails are seasoned to perfection! So is the rice and beans! Amazing flavor! If you don’t live close by it’s definitely worth the drive! I’ll be back to try more menu options. My take out order was ready in less than 5 minutes and it was nice and hot! Only con was the cabbage was different than what I’m used to. It’s made with mixed vegetables but it was good, I ate it all. DAQ Life is a must for Jamaican food!

I decided to try out Daq Life and I was happy with my decision. I had the oxtail with rice & peas and cabbage. It was delicious and the portions were plenty! I also bought a small & large daqairi with all flavors. The vibes were nice and I will be back soon!

The good taste great but it makes me wonder how clean it is because I ordered a drink and seen this nasty stuff floating… A nice worker said the owner uses fresh coconut.. never said anything about all the fruit being fresh… it kinda look like slime .. scary. It’s a first and last for me.. it was a nice atmosphere and all my friend and I had a nice time listening to music but once my drink turned in to juice and I seen slime like stuff floating I got up and left.

As a Jamaican Yorker, BBQ sauce does not equate to Jamaican food, and I made that very clear upon ordering I had been warned it was how a chicken dish of a family members was made and they too were very dissatisfied, the gentlemen assured me, it will not be this way, I ordered brown stew snapper, WHICH HAD RED BBQ SAUCE, cabbage and string beans WHICH ARE CANNED, I refunded the meal and kept the ginger beer just trying to support an indigenous owned business, the gentlemen then states so you’re saying that he the Jamaican cook isn’t authentic as the cook came out from the back greeted me and smiled cause he the cook knows the beans are canned and in the meal I attempted to purchase wasn’t authentic Jamaican food, the gentlemen then went on to state that I was the first person to ever complain, I said the second because my family members warned me however again I wanted to stay local, overall its the blatant lie for me then again the name of the spot is daq life which says alot, once I received the refund, I traveled the extra miles to Carribean kitchen in Petersburg and purchased double the amount of authentic Jamaican food, I had purchased at daq life, the prices were RIGHT, smell of Jamaican food wreaked out of the door, they served all kinds of Patty’s, the cook and host customer service was beyond exceptional, and the food was DELICIOUS brown stew fish rice and peas cabbage and curry chicken and double cabbage sides and 3 veggie pattys. Not to mention customers never stopped coming in while I waited 20 minutes for the meal to be prepared. We as a ppl really need to get it together, you can’t fool real ppl.

I visited this establishment for the first time today after seeing a Facebook post. The atmosphere is amazing. The restaurant is clean and service was spectacular. However, I ordered the pepper steak and it is super dry. The steak is tough and overcooked—— very disappointed.
