Established in 1992, Caffe Greco is a restaurant that specializes in Greek cuisine, a reflection of owner Rita Linder’s heritage. Caffe Greco gets it’s name from Rita and Michael’s life experiences. When Rita was a teenager, she spent many years studying opera at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilla. Everyday Rita, who is of Spanish, French and Greek descent, would enjoy the amazing Greek food her father would prepare.
Members of the family you will see in the restaurant include Rita and Michael’s daughter, Julia Bell, who married Lance Bell (whose family owned and ran Bell’s Department Store for 58 years in Santa Fe) who is a cook and food writer and their granddaughter Jacquelina Bell.

It’s super cute delicious place to stop by and have a bite and the owners of the café are so helpful and an interesting we even got to meet their dogs. The food is great. We had the souvlaki lamb and chicken as well as the soup of the day salads, fries, and another dish. The waitress was helpful and cool. She was smiling all the time and everybody was having a great time. If you want to change from the Mexican food, this restaurant is the place to be. There is also a cute shop right next to the restaurant that you can visit was waiting for your food.

What an awesome lunch in a perfect environment. We stopped here before our Canyon Road gallery exploration. The owner was crazy friendly. The food was fantastic. The atmosphere is laid back and perfect for its location.

Food is great. Quite pricey, but I guess that kinda goes with the location. They could use more waitstaff, although that certainly isn’t a dig on the staff working there.
Also, I overheard another customer ask for sandwiches. No sandwiches. She said the sign outside said otherwise.
Neat place overall.

In early December, my wife and I had a wonderful breakfast here following an overnight snowfall. We settled at a table in front of the fireplace and enjoyed a crackling fire and hot coffee while waiting for our food to arrive. Our meals were pretty much standard breakfast fare with a southwest twist, and approached home-cooked quality. All in all, coupled with the friendly service and other-worldly ambiance (see photos), it was a wonderful experience. We’ll be back!

Had a wonderful leisurely late lunch of the lamb shank…it was absolutely delicious. Met Michael Linder, the owner, who was so incredibly friendly. A New Yorker transplanted to New Mexico.
A must visit for anyone who visits Santa Fe!

Ordered a hummus plate with no pita bread due to serious gluten intolerance. She said she understood about the gluten. The meal arrived with pita bread next to the vegetables. We got eye rolls and “that’s how it comes” but she took the plate back. It was returned a few minutes later, there were visible bread crumbs on the cucumber slices. We asked again, she stated she put it on another plate, but the crumbs were there. There was also a hair on the cucumber.
Food allergies are serious, we don’t want to get sick because you couldn’t make it the way we asked.

Caffe Greco is charming, casual restaurant near the foot of Canyon Road (and one of only reasonable priced places to eat left on a street that features highly-rated cuisine and fine art galleries). Caffe Greco has excellent Greek food and some standard New Mexican fare. Restaurant seating is available indoors or outdoors on a cozy patio under the blue Santa Fe sky. — Be sure to stop by Jewel Mark, the owners’ other shop next door with lovely jewelry and stylish apparel items.

If you’re looking for really good NM Food than you have to try this place. Off of Canyon Road, this is our new favorite place to eat in Santa Fe. The owner, a native New Yorker was very engaging and welcoming to all of his guests. He also had a cool little store connected to the restaurant. So if you’re on Canyon Road or just in Santa Fe, you have to stop and try out their food.

The Lamb Shank was so good that we went back a 2nd time before we left. Live music was great too. It’s between 1 to 4pm on certain days of the week. Can’t recall exactly what days. There were two parking spots right next to it, but it was usually taken. Patio is dog friendly.
