A great local owner-operator business. I dropped in to get a bottle of nice Port for a social gathering and ended up staying and chatting. Peggy was great. Previewed a possible new mulled wine in progress. Always need more of these places that are real, local, and unique with people that really care about what they are doing and how folks are treated.

This is a great little wine bar/tasting room just off the square in downtown San Marcos. It has rare wines you will not find anywhere else in the area but with an affordable price list, and some choice beers, too! They have live music every Friday night in an intimate, listening room environment.

I finally got a chance to check this place out! I freakin love it! It is actually run by sommeliers that love their craft. They ensure all of their wines are unique to the area, no one within 100 miles has the same wine.
I had a glass of a Spanish white wine. I didn’t even think I liked Spanish wines. It was giving stone fruit at the beginning with a long, lovely honey finish. Did I just find my new favorite?

I direct a lifelong learning organization in San Marcos, TX and one evening having wine at Wineaux –Peggy Jones’ wine tasting room-she and I chatted about holding a wine class there. Ten of us joined her weeks later for a very informative , engaging, fun 2-hour session covering growing and producing wines, deductive tasting and food pairing…interspersed with tasting several high quality vintage “Old World ” wines. BTW most of us left with a bottle of one of our favorites. Just fabulous!
