Coming from Ottawa, I find myself in Tonica pretty often, and this place is a solid local joint. If you’re looking for a fancy, polished lounge, keep driving Aces & Eights is a total no-frills spot with a great small-town vibe.
Popped in with some friends last Saturday. The place was hopping, but that’s exactly what you want on a weekend. The beer was ice cold (huge win in my book) and the burgers were the real deal super juicy and definitely hit the spot. I’m knocking off one star only because the service was a bit sluggish since they were slammed, but the staff was hustling. It’s a great hole-in-the-wall to grab a drink and just kick back.

Great local spot with a really good menu selection. The atmosphere and staff were awesome. I had the buffalo chicken wrap and really liked it. I look forward to going back to try their fried chicken.

This an absolute gem with the small traditional town ambience. People in Tonica are friendly and eager to help outsiders. Music was not overwhelming like most bars in Chicago. Collection of beer is well thought out and so are the whiskey brands. Outdoor seating is nice and comfortable. Kitchen closed at 8 on Thursday and had to drive 5 miles. Entire town is beautiful. I guess the people in this town are a role model.

Went for lunch on Friday. Had grouper dinner, onion rings, crab rangoon flat bread and drinks. All very good. Great bar food menu with a twist on daily specials. Friendly service. Took home the lobster bisque, best in the Midwest. Will return for sure.
