LG chicken tender sub. Menu says comes with lettuce, tomato, Mayo. I added cheese and bacon, each an upcharge.
Sub came without mayo, let, tomato, and cheese. Pretty sure looking sammi.
Wife for steak tip salad. Tips were dry and chewy. Won’t be ordering from here again.
Nice clean and cool place to start your mid day or evening.Sub,Salad,Pizza or seafood is awesome.
Try them won’t be disappointed that all I can promise.
Take out or delivery either dine in,these guys are rocking stars.
10 stars they deserved, if I can gave them.
Good luck
These guys know how to cook the pasta. Everywhere else it’s too soft from being overcooked. This place has been super consistent with that. The steak and cheese was also excellent.
With this being said, I am a North Shore beef connoisseur. I do not eff around with my beef. Places that have “roast beef” in the name of the restaurant are especially interesting to me. I have had divine beef’s. I have had beef’s you probably wouldn’t feed to your toilet let alone your dog (it happens).
Fortunately for Greg, his beef wasn’t the worst I’ve had. However there were some glaring issues (which is why I will continue to order the pasta until I hear that things have changed)
#1, and by far the most offensive- the bun I got was dry. No butter, didn’t get grilled. Just cold dry bun. If you butter any bun and grill it to get that nice crisp, it works. You could do this to a stale bun and I would eat the crap out of it. Not for nothing, I ordered the beef I’m talking about with mayo which was not put on the sandwich. I did order sauce on the side, and it WAS James River (the correct sauce for beef) so that saved it a little, but dredging with Jimmy to avoid the issues is cheating. Not cool for me or for Greg.
The beef itself – it was a little dry. It was a little crumbly. It should be nice thin slices of beef, and they should be warm. This beef wasnt cold (I’ve had ice cold beef’s) so it’s possible it died to the delivery voyage (which i won’t discount to the people at the restaurant). The flavor was actually pretty good. I can tell it was cooked in house. It could use a little more salt, maybe some garlic, but don’t change too much.
Please don’t take this review the wrong way; I’m trying to help, because I believe in Greg’s based on their other food, but if you have roast beef in the name, you should fix the beef’s.
Here are the rules.
Fresh, warm pink beef. This will automatically get people talking about the beef
Buttered, grilled crispy bun.
Keep the James River warm.
Keep putting cheese on the bottom (this is the way).
There are people who are even more scrutinizing than I am that would rip this place apart. But the beef game isn’t about competition. Let your other food do that. The beef game is about community. Making sure that people can get a great sandwich is more important than pride.
My recommendation to Greg: check out Pete’s in Woburn, Nick’s place in Burlington, Mikey’s in Billerica (these are close places). I’m not telling your customers to go here instead. I’m telling you this because I did like the beef. It just wasn’t ideal, and I want it to be.
Not trying to get people to eat elsewhere. I won’t stop being a customer. I just hope this helps! I guarantee if you do this stuff it will be a night and day difference. Not judging, not blaming, no ill feelings intended.
I’m still giving you five stars cuz everything else I’ve had from here was amazing.
Thanks!!
I didn’t love the onion rings. They were kind of flavorless. Seemed fresh, though.
Haven’t strayed too far from there. Mashed potatoes are good. People are nice.

The “meh”:
The facility is clean enough, but edging towards tired. Simple interior. No seating.
The bad:
On our most recent visit, our order was incorrect. We ordered online, no customizations.
My wife ordered clam strips, we got a much more expensive whole belly clam dinner. Sounds great, but she doesn’t like whole bellies (and neither do I). It comes with steak fries and onion rings, both of which were pretty tasteless.
I got the stir fry chicken sandwich, which was swimming in teriyaki sauce. It would have been a decent sandwich with a quarter of the sauce.
Family got a margarita pizza. The pizza was good enough, they have a decent crust, but wasn’t what we hoped for. I wish they offered an Italian margherita rather than a Greek margarita pizza.
