We just went to Caldwell Diner to pick up a cheesecake, and I’m extremely disappointed with what we received. The cake looked like it was thrown together in seconds — they literally just tossed strawberries on top with no glaze or care for presentation. In the past, we’ve ordered cheesecakes from them last minute and they were always done beautifully, so I was shocked at how careless this one looked. Mind you we drove 45 minutes just to get this cheesecake because we have had it in the past. We have also used this cheesecake for birthday parties in the past. I will never return there because the presentation this cheesecake is terrible.
To make matters worse, they charged $66 for this cheesecake. When I called to ask about a partial refund because of how terrible it looked, I was told that they “cannot do that.” Honestly, the presentation of this cheesecake is embarrassing, especially considering the price. Below is a picture of a cheesecake that is not worth $66. My family has own a restaurant for years. We would never tell a customer that they can’t receive a partial credit for something they’re not happy about.

Generally speaking this place is good. Food wise, the breakfast is great with plenty of options, but the lunch/dinner is average in terms of taste and quality (portions are generous though). The staff are always super nice and friendly. I would say for a diner and the associated food quality, it is a little overpriced.

Service was fast and good. Food was above average. My husband ordered the omelet and I got 2 eggs one without the yolk with corned beef – eggs were cooked perfectly sunny side up and runny just how I like it . I read the good reviews about their cheesecake and got it and it surely did not disappoint. It was the exact texture I enjoy in a cheesecake. Cute little spot. Better than most diners out there for sure.

This diner is situated in beautiful Caldwell and feels like home. The owners and staff are welcoming & polite. The diner is super clean and food excellent.

It’s been a while since I have been at a diner. I am often overwhelmed by the array of options. However, this day, I truly didn’t know what to eat and actually wanted to choose from an assortment of options . Caldwell Diner did not disappoint!
When I arrived , we were greeted with a smile and taken to our booth. I wasn’t in the mood for anything heavy so I decided to order the Santa Fe salad. My partner ordered the corn beef hash. (Don’t know what Daniel L was talking about in his review, it is on the menu).
Back to my salad. Omg, it was the freshest salad I’ve had in a while! I started eating it before I could even take a picture. I asked for the buffalo sauce and the blue cheese dressing on the side. (I like to distribute the sauces myself , it’s just a personal preference) I also asked for balsamic vinegar as well. For me, the balsamic wasn’t entirely necessary but I wanted it as an option just incase I didn’t enjoy the blue cheese. However, the buffalo sauce and blue cheese combo was perfect.
The salad was so big, I couldn’t eat the entire thing, I was able to take some home. For me, that’s a big plus. Leftovers are my jam.
Thank you to Ramiro for providing professional, attentive and quick service. He checked on us every so often to make sure we were ok without being too intrusive. Thank you for being friendly and welcoming.

Felt like meatloaf tonight. Saw they had meatloaf parmigiana. I said I’d give it a shot. Not bad. Nice fresh vegetables and mashed potato’s. Nice chicken and rice soup came with meal. Was a bit salty but good… potato skins weren’t bad either….:
