For the main dish, we ordered curries. We had butter chicken and chicken korma, and I liked them. They were good and tasty. If you’re like me and looking for non-spicy food at this restaurant, keep in mind that butter chicken is less spicy than korma.
We ordered rasmalai for dessert, but I didn’t like it very much. The interior of the restaurant is very ordinary, so don’t expect anything fancy or upscale. That said, the food itself is good.

Food is pretty good. I have tried a couple of different dishes and liked them, especially the chicken korma and chicken saag. The spice level is not as high as other Indian restaurants, so mild level was not flavorful enough for me and went for medium next times. The ambiance is not the greatest, but ok. Service is a little bit slow and they charge an additional 2.6% service fee for paying with credit card, which is not great especially given that the dishes are a bit overpriced and portions are not too big.

I was out scouting the American River for good fishing spots with Joe the Pickpocket, and when we were done Joe insisted we go to the New Kathmandu Kitchen Restaurant for what he describes as the best food in Sacramento! Well…That’s a pretty tall recommendation by anyone’s standards, so off we went!
And let me tell you what..The food was great, but as far as being the best in Sactown..the jury is still out. It is worthy of 5 stars though. ☆☆☆☆☆

It’s always a good sign when you walk into a restaurant and the dining room is filled with the most scrumptious smelling aroma. The food matched the wonderful scents.
A nice dining room mural was painted across our view. The food was delicious, flavorful, cooked fresh, and sizzling hot. The only thing that gave me pause was the portion size of the entrees.
The service was great and very welcoming.

Hands down, the best Indian food I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The sophisticated ingredients combined with the authentic cooking style create a superb experience for all your senses. The apps were delicious and even after sitting for a while (because we were eating so much food), they were not oily. The customer service is perfect. I felt catered to without feeling annoyed. I went to try items we wanted for a wedding feast. We are def hiring this place! I would eat here every day if I lived in Sacramento. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We order this for delivery. It was delicious. The chicken tikka masala and channa masala were both very good. The chicken chili must be Nepalese because not something I have seen at an Indian restaurant. It was delicious. I will order it all again. The naan was not my favorite. It was more bready than a traditional naan. Give this place a try.

The Nepalese food was on point! We enjoyed samosas, the chicken curry and the shrimp tikka masala with a side of rice and garlic basil Nan bread. Food delivery was prompt. The table service was probably the best I’ve had since before COVID. My friend also stated that the Samosas were the best she’s ever had. I’ve never had basil with my Nan bread either, so I decided to try it. 10/10 would recommend!

The service was amazing such a kind server. The dishes were amazing although when I ordered medium spicy it could have been a bit hotter, but i understand they try and cater to the broader customer base. Super clean dining and restrooms will return.

This is our go-to place for Indian/Nepali food in Sacramento. It’s the first place I’ve found that can do chicken chili momos (a favorite from when I lived in Nepal!) Their chicken tikka masala is stellar. We eat-in and get take-out often and the food comes out fast and reliably delicious. Highly recommend.

I placed a large takeout order with several entrées and appetizers. The main dishes were seasoned well, and the flavors were delicious. Butter, chicken, lamb, vindaloo, samosa chat were all excellent… the tandoori chicken was my least favorite. As was the naan. That being said, this restaurant ranks right up there with some of the best Indian food that I’ve enjoyed and I’d recommend a trip.
