Johnny Bandera BBQ was awesome. The chopped sandwich and turkey sandwich was super flavorful and juicy, and the mac and cheese was creamy and on point. The best part was the homemade carrot cake, it was the best cake I’ve had. Solid portions and great BBQ overall. I’ll definitely be back.
Update: Went back again and it was better the second time. This time I had the pulled pork and mini sliders. Pulled pork was moist and the slider was as good as the chopped sandwich. I also had the cheesy potato’s, corn, and mashed potatoes and each one of them were delicious.

Convenient location, can just walk over for lunch. The poppers are addicting, I can just have that and be full. Didn’t get to snap a Pic of the carrot cake, but it was delicious.

Very good BBQ. Serves brisket, pulled pork, chicken breast , sausage, sliders, jalapeño poppers and ribs. Good selection of side dishes. Family owned and operated. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The apple pie is the best! Other desserts are just as delicious.

Everything was so good brisket nice and juicy turkey juicy ribs are good too sausage with cheese and jalepenos is what we got it was great. The sides cheesy potatoes, green beans Mac n cheese and potatoe salad all great options that we had. We finished with peach cobbler which my husband loved and Omgoodness chocolate tres leches with Oreos and strawberry was absolutely delicious this was our first time going were from Atascosa near Lytle we will definitely come back and we have so many people we want to bring here. The family is so nice. The daughter I believe the shorter one was very proud that it’s a family owned business she had great people skills.

Staff was so friendly. Hard to find an open table but it was the first weekend they opened. Food came out quick. Mac n cheese was so good, bake potatoe was very soft and good. Banana pudding was great.

Atascosa County. Brisket taste like it was made last week, super dry and tough. The only thing that helps it go down is drowning it in BBQ sauce. If I were you, I wouldn’t waste your money; take it from me.
02/09/26 decided to give it another try and again same disappointment didn’t think the food could get any worse but it did. I’m seeing all these good reviews but I’m not sure if they ate at the same place I did.
