We were walking across the street and we saw this cool, I like zig zag’s you know and I like BBQ and I was like what’s that smell? Then I walked in. And people had already placed orders. And I took a look at someone’s food and I said I WANT THAT. They were so right. The half rack of ribs I ate to the bone – I sucked all the meat off the bone! Cutting through the juicy 1/4 lb of brisket dipped in that mmhmm sauce made me happy. Medium size creamy queso Mac topped with a yummy chopped up chip garnish. Small and fresh and crunchy coleslaw. Don’t forget the slices of pickles! What a happy surprise. I love pickles. By the way Bob’s the man! Absolute must see the banana bathroom!

Apparently Zig Zag only does Beef Short Ribs on Saturdays. This is a problem for me, because I had one of theirs today for the first time, and now I need one every-single-day. There is no short rib like theirs from ANY BBQ joint in the tristate area. They had an oxtail & sweet potato special as well which I need to consume everyday. Creative and inventive sides, amazing beer and wine selection, Blue Velvet art on the wall, bananas in the bathroom, and a very fun staff to joke around with. I’ve tried them all in Philly and nothing beats Zig Zag. If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out.

You can smell the place up the block as you approach. Great home made sauce and a slow cook method that makes it worth coming down for. Brisket was just the right balance of meat to fat for flavor. Question mac, you could have seconds and call that your meal.

Heard of this place from my mom and sister as they have visited this place before. Very small location but does have seating. Great food friendly service my only issue is the cornbread could have had more flavor but other then that food was amazingly great would recommend to others. I had the pull pork sandwich which was very flavorful, I also tasted the brisket sandwich definitely recommend.

Some of the best BBQ I’ve had in Philly. Ribs were amazing, pulled pork was delicious. Sides were all yummy and a great beer/ wine selection. We dined in and read some Dr. Seuss while we waited 🙂 Lovely Sunday dinner with the fam.

According to my son there’s no really good bbq places in Philadelphia until they came across ZigZag BBQ. He was excited to introduce us to what they had to offer. Their 1/2# beef brisket was tender & moist and the 1/2# pork nubs were delicious as served and w complementary sauces. I got more excited w their unique twists to the sides. Each had a creative flavor and style that made it fun to eat. We loved the corn bread w miso maple sumac butter, juicy minced cole slaw, queso macroroni & cheese, and sichuan style smash cucumbers. The latter two had a nice light burn.

The place is mostly a hole in wall, with a random vibe, punk aesthetic, and delicious food. Pictured here is the pulled pork sandwich with heaps of pork on a fresh bun. As a NC native, the Carolina sauce is not what a native would expect, but it is excellent. I ended up getting extra for dipping. The kale salad was massive and yummy, and honestly the cowboy beans may have stolen the show with a deep BBQ spiced flavor and plenty of meat chunks topped with Fritos. The many bananas for scale in the bathroom left me slightly intimidated, but I still hope to return some day.

The BEST BBQ I ever had! DO NOT hesitate on the beef ribs, you will miss out. PS, you can leave your dentures at home because the meat falls off the bone! Everything was so good!

Incredibly mid bbq. Over priced and what you’d expect from a hipster vibe bbq joint that isn’t putting out anything of quality. And it really sucks because it’s so close to me but just not worth it

This place… is amazing. I’ve walked by so many times, it always smells so good, and finally had a chance to go in today. Oh my goodness. The food is incredible, the service is outstanding and the portions are HUGE! The prices are also really good for the amount of delicious food you get. Also, a friend I went with is vegetarian and had several options to choose from. I’m so happy I finally tried it and can’t wait to return.
